I bought this for my parents as their municipal water had flocculence and a very unpleasant “dirty” taste. They have run two batches per day through this every single day for the past four years. That’s 730 gallons of distilled output. How much would that have cost to buy at the grocery store!?! It still works flawlessly. Each time a cycle completes they spray 5% vinegar (sometimes called pickling vinegar), and let it sit covered for a couple of minutes before wiping clean. The dogs (4), cat, wild birds, and numerous houseplants all drink this water. The electric kettle has never had to be descaled since using this distiller. It was previously cleaned every time it was used, the tap water was so hard. I grew up with a large distiller, then my parents moved off the farm into town. They somehow never got another distiller until this one. TL;DR. Don’t waste, time, effort, and money using reverse osmosis or filter systems. Get a distiller and free yourself from that junk.

I've owned this water distiller since 2016, and after 9 years of consistent use, it's still running perfectly. This thing is an absolute workhorse that has never given me any problems. GAME-CHANGING CLEANING TIP: Forget the citric acid that comes with it - use white vinegar for cleaning. Just put a splash of vinegar in the bottom (add a little water to cover the surface), let it sit for a few hours, and the mineral buildup dissolves. If you get build-up higher up on the walls, use a bit more vinegar, fill the water until the build-up area is covered, and let it sit overnight. This tip makes maintenance incredibly easy and saves you money. Why quality matters: I have a friend who bought a cheaper knockoff version instead of this one. His lasted only 3 years before breaking. Meanwhile, mine has lasted 3x longer and still going. You really do get what you pay for. More Pro Tips: - Stick with H2O Labs brand filters - I've tried knockoffs and they're noticeably inferior - They say to change filters every 60 days but I usually go about 90 before a noticeable taste - Yes, the filters cost money, but compared to other water purification options, they're reasonably priced - Fill line tip: Don't go by the "FULL" indicator exactly. Fill to about halfway up the word "FULL" for a complete carafe without spillover - Lid removal: Hold the unit against your body and peel the lid away like you're pouring from a bowl Bottom line: After 9 years of daily use with zero issues, I can confidently say this distiller is worth every penny. The vinegar cleaning method makes maintenance a breeze, and the build quality ensures you'll be using this for years to come. Highly recommended for anyone serious about clean water. Would I buy again? Absolutely. Would I recommend to friends? Already have (though I tell them to get THIS one, not a knockoff).

This superseded its' description in leaps and bounds. Great little machine well worth investing into. Very happy with the flavor of our water now. It's so clean and delicious having all the silt and excess minerals removed. We have well water and it's amazing how much 'junk' is in it. It also explains why the husband has had so many kidney stones and bladder issues. So glad we bought this! Update! We've had this wonderful machine since June 12th and have used it religiously every day. We are 64 years old, so not Popeye's by any means, but our energy level is amazing now. The husband and I have been going non-stop on outside projects, and we are lifting 350 pound awnings for a mare's motel all by ourselves!!! I kid you not. He was riddled with RA a year ago, and now it's arrested and he feels like he's 20 again. I have degenerative disk disease, and am a short 5' 5", yet I'm climbing horse corrals and lifting these monster 8' by 24' long enormous trussed horse awnings like I'm superwoman. This water is freaking unbelievable!!! We sleep like babies now--and in 44 years of marriage we've seldom slept that well. My husband had two huge kidney stones diagnosed before we started the distilled water--they are now gone!!! The gunk we see on the bottom of the machine tells us how much crap is in well water, and our well is 750' down. We do take supplements as we are not getting the minerals, but now we are thinking there were too many minerals and too much sand and other nasty unknowns that was making the water unhealthy. Mind you, we dove into this 'experiment' with open minds but not expecting much. We are still pinching each other in disbelief that we erected four of those enormous awnings completely by ourselves and zero pain the next day. ZERO! We drink it constantly as we crave it. For tasteless water, it is so very gratifying. I like tea with lemon, or just the water on ice with lemon and it is so darn good. Prior to this you couldn't get me to touch water for nothing. I was a diet coke gal, twice daily. Anything but water. Now all I want is this water. Weight loss, oh yeah! About 5 lbs in two months. Toxins literally pour out of us every day when we shower. Unbelievable! I know there's not a lot of information about the benefits of distilled water which is why we didn't expect much, but now that we have drank it religiously for over two months we feel absolutely wonderful. Another perk I've noticed is no morning brain fog when I wake up. But here's the real proof. Both of us had pretty bad blood pressure checkups prior to doing this, so we decided it would be fun to keep a written list of daily blood pressure tests for the both of us. He was always in the 150s or higher, and I have a problem with my temper so I would skyrocket into the 170s. Neither of us are heavy by any means either. Just stress from daily issues. Anyway, those readings have both plummeted to a lovely normal reading for the past two weeks for the both of us. If that's not proof of improvement, I don't know what is. So those nay-sayers that think distilled is horrible--what do you think they use for wine, beer, etc.? Duh! It's all distilled.

This is the first time I am writing a review for an Amazon purchase, but I just had to speak out on the H2O Labs Best-In-Class Stainless Steel Water Distiller we purchased on January 19, 2022. I will admit that this may be one of those lengthy reviews so for those of you with little patience I will say upfront that this is a stellar device. It outperforms any of our expectations and I highly recommend it. OK, for those willing to stick around for the longer version, here we go. We live on a 100 acre farm and over the past 30+ years approximately 7 gas wells have been dug on the property. All but two of those have been capped and sealed. We always wondered if some of the residual petroleum may have leached into the water table. Several years ago, we had our water tested and nothing objectionable was reported. However, when we would leave a glass of water sitting overnight, the next morning there would be a lovely rainbow of oil on the surface. I don’t think it takes an Einstein to know that something wasn’t right. Therefore, we searched for a water distiller. We weren’t prepared to spend a thousand dollars, but we wanted one we could depend on. The Best-In-Class seemed to fit both our pocket and our needs. We couldn’t be more impressed with the water it produces and how well it works. We make approximately 3 gallons of distilled water a day. This keeps us, and our animals and indoor garden, in clean, healthy water. I was a little concerned about keeping it clean, especially after seeing some pictures of heavy sediment left in the bottom. Well, let me tell you, with a minimum of care, it stays clean and smooth. After each production we put approximately 1/3 cup of vinegar in the bottom, let it sit for about 15 minutes, then we go in with a nylon scrub cloth and wash the bottom and sides thoroughly. Every other time we also add a few drops of Dawn dish soap. We rinse it thoroughly after and refill for the next batch. A little thing like plugging the cord in is made even simpler with the little white mark on each cord that tells you when you have them properly seated. They have made it as carefree as possible. We start a batch in the morning, in the mid-afternoon and then at night. I highly recommend the H2O Labs Best-In-Class Stainless Steel Water Distiller for anyone who wants to live a healthier life. If you have had issues with kidney or bladder stones, using distilled water will significantly help you reduce your chanced of getting another one. City water is filled with so many caustic chemicals we would be shocked to know. Even well water is not what we think it is. I truly believe my families health has been made better because of this purchase. Thank you for your patience. You can trust this distiller. UPDATE A YEAR LATER: We loved this distiller until we started having issues with it stopping mid process. We contacted the seller and they said "No problem we will send out a replacement thermal control and that should take care of it." We waited and waited but no replacement part arrived. We placed a second call and was told it was still sitting there and they would send it out. We waited another two weeks and still no replacement part, so called again. This time they finally sent it but replacing the part did not work. Thank goodness we had purchased Asurion insurance so we contacted them and got our money back. The machine is good but don't buy from these folks. The customer service does not exist.
