I set this Sheppard hook up with my bird seed . hummingbird nectar and grape jelly in a cup with half a orange from a hanging dish. It's beautiful well built and strong I highly recommend this.youbwill not be disappointed

Make sure you measure your railing and look at the opening measurement on this. It won't fit the metal railing at the person's apartment I bought it for. Otherwise it's a nice piece. I didn't look at it today but it seems the top part may have been plastic but you can check on that for sure. It's actually cute if we can figure out a way to adapt it to the railing.
