No optics defects, seems a good replacement
I got an Epson 1980wu reconditioned with an original Epson lamp that had 1700 hours on it. I figured that I'd try a cheap lamp and keep the original as my spare. It arrived well enough packaged for shock protection. I have only run this on Eco mode and they both use about 168-170w. I measured the brightness using a lux meter on my Samsung phone and they were very similar, maybe a slight edge to the original Epson bulb but no more than five percent. There was the expected plastic smell but only for an hour. I will also measure the heat output, to touch the projector case near the exhaust seemes warmer but that's very subjective. I will check with a laser thermometer when I find it. I'll give it five stars for now, it seems as good as the original lamp and I paid just $37 or so. I don't plan to use full brightness as eco level is plenty for my space. Will it last? Right now my hunch is that I would surprised if it blows in a couple of hundred hours as I have read happened with other brands.

Wonderful buy
Bought this for my Epson 520 power lite projector after I kept getting the notification that my lamp was going out and finally bought a new one when I could barely see the screen anymore. When I put this bulb in it was easy to install and instantly brighter and more saturated with color. I can even watch the projector easily during the daytime and I don't have blackout curtains. When this one runs its course (hopefully, it'll take a long while) then I will repurchase this same brand. Pleased with my purchase. Edit: August 2025 With 5905 normal lamp hours I am barely able to see my screen at night time and it's nearly impossible during the daytime. 9 months isn't bad for the price, I'm putting another one in my cart to purchase overnight now. Edit 2: The second bulb that I bought has gone out within 3 months. Pretty irritating actually since I had such good reviews. I'll purchase another from this company only because it's during the holidays and I can return it up until January. But even now I'm debating that.

Matches OEM for brightness!
Why did you pick this product vs others?: Very bright! It matches the OEM Bulb, everything is bright and clear, hopefully it lasts a few years like the OEM Bulb, the previous bulbs all died in less than a years time. I will update if it dies before a year is up.

Good runtime
I run a projector in my living room instead of a TV so as you can imagine its running most day for at least 12 hours. If you keep your air filter on the projector clean and give it enough room to vent this bulb lasts me around a year to a year and a half.
