When Used with an Irrigation System, It Is Very Effective, Even in a Swamp
Many reviewers use this product differently. This review is for the "All-in" approach of using the concentrate regularly with the companion hardware, known as the Sprinkler Magician. The concentrate and system regularly covers our entire lawn (1 to 2 times per week) by injecting the concentrate into the irrigation system zones and running each zone for a few minutes. It is very effective against mosquitos and noseeums in Southwest Florida, aka the Swamp. Prior to the Sprinkler Magician / Mosquito Magician system, we had tried one of the equally comprehensive Misting Systems that spray a mist of Pyrethrins around the yard. It did kill bugs when applied on a very still (no wind) day, but they would come back - sometimes as quickly as 15 minutes. We had the system removed at the end of 30 days because it was not providing good results, was very expensive, and we were concerned about health effects of the Pyrethrins after reading more about them. Sprinkler Magician is also expensive, but less. In the Swamp, it's worth the cost. After two weeks, mosquitos were noticeably decreased. By month of twice per week irrigations with Mosquito Magician, mosquitos were not a problem anymore and we scaled back to once-a-week applications. It has worked well for over a year. Noseeums are a little tougher. They are reduced, but when conditions are ripe for noseeums and we want to enjoy the yard in the evening, we manually trigger an irrigation before going outside. It's effective about 2/3's of the time. 1/3 of the time, we'd need to also apply repellant or go back inside. The smell of the product is nice. Friends and neighbors like it, too. Seems much safer than the Pyrethrins.

Good Stuff
This stuff works well and we like it because we don't have to worry about spraying it where our dogs play. It doesn't work as well, or last as long as bifenthrin based products, but the human/animal safety seems worth a couple of extra applications.

Helps with mosquitos a lot, but MAY attract black flys?
IMPORTANT SAFETY UPDATE: While this is safe to use around pets,....read the label! Keep you pets off the grass after spraying for the specified amount of time. We felt so comfortable around this that we sprayed it with our little dogs near and allowed them to go potty shortly after spraying. My poor little Chorkie dog threw up all night long and wouldn’t eat the next morning. The vet was certain that it was caused by the garlic in the spray. Our baby is fine, but needed IV fluids and a shot for the nausea. Again,...TOTALLY OUR FAULT, because the label warns you to keep them away after spraying. I just want to reiterate this so no one else ends up with a sick fur baby. WE HAVE SPRAYED THIS ONCE A WEEK FOR THREE WEEKS NOW,...... we use a one gallon sprayer and put 4 ounces inside and fill with water. Our backyard is about 75’ x 75’. I personally like the smell. It smells like lemongrass and garlic,...but more on the lemongrass side. The smell dissipated within an hour or so. We can see, while spraying, that the bugs don’t like it at all. They leave immediately, ........except for the black flys. I never noticed any black flys prior to spraying, but they showed up immediately after spraying. I’m not sure if this was a coincidence or not. So I bought a black fly bag and two Raid hanging sticky wands to deal with those. So between the mosquito magician and the black fly bag (far corner of backyard) and two hanging sticky fly tubes/wands, we are almost completely bug free. I no longer end up with bites on me after mowing and we can enjoy a cup of coffee on the back porch day or night without being annoyed. BACKGROUND We had a dog get cancer at age 4 and die at age 6, so we are very cautious of the chemicals in our environment now. We have two puppies in our fenced backyard. We also don’t use flea and tick meds on our fur babies (age one and two) and they don’t have any on them so far. The full protocol includes weekly baths with a natural flea and tick shampoo and lemongrass flea and tick wipes made for dogs. LANDSCAPE BACKGROUND We laid new sod last year that died. So we bought some mini clover (here on Amazon) instead of chemical weed and feed,......because like I mentioned above we are afraid of chemicals. This spray did not kill or injure our clover infused lawn.

Waste of money
Sure it's easy to use, but that is about the extent of this stuff as far as benefit. I feel like I wasted $100.00 on a product that just made my yard smell like a pungent essential oil candle. We have had a serious mosquito issue at our home in Gulf Shores AL this summer. I've used this twice, and it didn't do anything to reduce the mosquitos in our yard. For whatever reason, this year has been horrible for mosquitos....thousands of them around our home. I mixed and sprayed 3 gallons around the house yesterday evening right before dark when the wind had died down, woke up today to the same concentration of mosquitos. The only thing I've seen that seems to eliminate them is the permethrin insecticide (I've had to buy multiple cans of the "Cutters" mosquito spray), which drops them like flies instantaneously. But buying cans of the stuff at $7 isn't cheap and isn't a large-scale solution to the problem, nor is it particularly safe to use if you have animals or kids playing in the yard. Before resorting to using Permethrin with the fogger machine (I bought one this summer) I tried this first as it claims to be the "Natural" approach to minimize the pesticide dangers, but for me, this was a waste of time, money and continued mosquito exposure. Save the money and just get the hard-core stuff unless you want to do the "mosquito dance" in your yard while you spread this stinky stuff around your house and try to avoid getting feasted on. It may not be the solution you'd hoped for, but when you compare the lesser of two evils...I'll treat the concentrated areas of the yard where they seem to accumulate and take my dog out to the less invaded areas of the yard for his "business".
