I chose the RUGCEL 4500LB.
After comparing several portable winches in the same category, I chose the RUGCEL 4500LB. It offers a well-balanced combination of price, features, and build quality, and the overall experience exceeded my expectations. Its biggest advantage is that it doesn’t require permanent installation—just store it in the trunk and take it out whenever needed. This makes it ideal for ATVs, UTVs, boat trailers, and equipment towing. The winch is housed in a durable toolbox, which makes carrying and storage very convenient. The synthetic rope runs smoothly with plenty of pulling power, fully meeting everyday towing needs in real-world use. The accessories are comprehensive, so it’s essentially ready to use right out of the box. Both the wired and wireless remote controls work very well, are easy to operate, and provide a strong sense of safety. Overall, this is a highly practical and reliable portable winch.

Very Handy
This is a great, portable design. Very useful and I highly recommend it. One thing I will fix is that the power cables do not fit snugly. Other than that, great.

Works great
Impressed, I've been very impressed with this winch. I decided to purchase one after using my brother in laws while on a moose hunt. It's a very compact and portable unit, so far I've pulled 3 vehicles onto a car trailer and a snowmobile, it has functioned flawlessly. I bought to have with me while in the north Maine woods. I highly recommend this unit.

Garbage
Garbage. Case hinge broke first time opening. Grease leaking out of winder. Battery cables loose even after tightening nuts on main power connectors which could lead to a fire. These cables carry up to 240 amps under full power. Manual clutch release never worked. Only way to extend cable was to do so under power. Motor broke internally after 5 minutes of use. Great concept just manufactured very poorly. Don’t bother buying this. Hats off to Amazon in accepting the return and refunding promptly.

1st Use Case - Wenched Tuck onto Trailer
Product works as described. 1st use was to pull a Ford Ranger onto a U-Haul Xar Hauler double axle trailer. I lined up the trailer with the truck, connected the provided power cables to a 20’ long set of jumper cables to hook up to my F150s battery and then using the power button unreeled the hook and line. I made sure the wench was properly secured to the front of the trailer and began pulling the truck in neutral up onto the trailer. My son steered it while I controlled the wench. 1st use was a success. If I were to critique this product, I would say that the box that houses the winch needs to have more room inside to fit a 30 foot long set of jumper cables to power the wench from the front of a truck to the back where a trailer is… it comes with about 6’ which is way to short and not practical in my 1st use case…

Portable is better when you don’t always need a winch
With the portable design, I can use this winch in the yard, on the dump trailer and in the truck bed. I added an Anderson connection to the power cord for easy hook up and added one to the battery clamps that came with the winch. Now I have both power solutions. Only other modification will be a replacement of the power cables to better suit cold weather flexibility. Really need an arctic grade wire if you use the winch in the winter.

The case is cheaply made
Have owned it for less than a year, the winch works well but the cases that it is installed in is cheaply made and flimsy. I would have happily paid more for a quality case. The only reason to buy a winch like this is for the case. I watched several videos fron the manufacturer and in those the early or prototype cases look to be much higher quality. But after they go into production they cut corners to reduce cost.

Neat and tidy kit. BUT! Even with the anchor straps middled (half the length) the power leads won’t reach the vehicle battery for self recovery setup. Why?!!! Disappointed that the day after I ordered it, the price was significantly dropped. Be nice to be offered the difference as a refund. I see the price is now sitting at this much lower price point. So, once I make up an extension lead to reach the battery, I intend using a Spanish Burton pulley rig, to gain an 8T pulling capacity (while at 1/4 of the pace). My adventuring style is low risk, however, this kit gives me a safe guard for self recovery should an unexpected event happen. Plus, I don’t want to spend $6K for a bar & winch and constantly carry that weight, plus I want a gentlemanly look to my 4x4, this kit will hide discreetly in the back, only when planned adventuring.

Seems plenty strong I'd say its accurately rated. I really love the case, I leave the line spooled out and just put it in the case for quick set up and quick cleanup after. No need to spool it in every use.

Met expectations and saved my a$$ twice already. Although power input should be a bit more durable and or made into a waterproof plug-in go as it ripped out on first use and needed rk be modified... Other than that it did the trick. I recommend buying your own snach block pully.. the one supplied is prone to pinching synthetic cable.
