Not sure why people didn't have much luck with, it worked great for me. I prepped the dirt, laid the seeds, covered with a roll of straw and watered daily. They were sprouting grass within 4 days. It worked so good I bought it again for an area that used to be a garden and it is already thick and I laid it down a week ago. I have used three other types of seeds and had terrible luck. It was recommended by a landscaping business so i gave it a try. I wish I did a before and after to show but, it works great as long as you cover it and water it daily.

Jonathan Green is an awesome product. No weed seed in their packaging. A product grows quickly when following directions, and lasts.

I was really excited to try the Black Beauty Heat and Drought grass seed, but unfortunately, it’s been a big disappointment. I followed all the directions carefully — prepared the soil, watered consistently, and made sure it got plenty of sunlight. It’s been over two weeks, and absolutely nothing has sprouted. Not even a hint of green. For a product that’s supposed to handle heat and drought, I expected at least some results by now. Very frustrating and a waste of time and money being that I purchased 2 bags separately.

Grass grew good with these seeds for Northeast region.

My lawn was originally seeded with PRye in the spring which came out great until it cooked in the summer heat. I reseeded (overseeded) with JGBB in late August. After a week with very little germination i added leftover Perennial rye to help with fullness, especially to areas that were still sparse after a couple weeks. It worked wonderfully! I don't think the JG seeds would have been enough to cover even an overseeding project. My lawn is only 750 sq ft and this bag definitely came up short. For the price i expected a better outcome without the need to add extra seed. Also, according to the label there are more weeds than usual for a name brand product. Hopefully the little KBG that is in the bag will help fill in bare spots. This was my first year seeding a lawn and the biggest lesson i've learned is to seed in FALL for cool season grasses! Spring seeding was a waste of time, energy and water just to watch the lawn get smoked in the summer heat. I don't think i'd repurchase the JG again unless the price was right. Pics are of before, during and after overseeding.
