Nothing to loose
In-Depth Review: Kirkland Minoxidil 5% Topical Solution – Extra Strength Hair Regrowth Treatment for Men Overview Kirkland Minoxidil 5% Topical Solution is an affordable, FDA-approved treatment for male pattern hair loss. As a generic alternative to Rogaine, it contains the same active ingredient (minoxidil) at the same concentration, making it a cost-effective choice for those seeking hair regrowth. The included dropper applicator ensures precise dosing, and the liquid formula is designed for easy application. Pros: ✅ Clinically Proven Effectiveness – Minoxidil 5% is scientifically backed to slow hair loss and stimulate regrowth in men with androgenetic alopecia. Many users report noticeable thickening and reduced shedding within 3-6 months. ✅ Budget-Friendly – Compared to brand-name Rogaine, Kirkland’s version offers significant savings without compromising quality. ✅ Easy to Use – The dropper allows for targeted application, ensuring the solution reaches the scalp effectively. ✅ Widely Available – Sold at Costco, Amazon, and other retailers, making it convenient to purchase in bulk. Cons: ⚠️ Requires Consistency – Minoxidil must be applied twice daily, and stopping treatment can reverse results. Commitment is key. ⚠️ Initial Shedding Phase – Some users experience temporary increased shedding in the first few weeks as weaker hairs make way for new growth. ⚠️ Potential Side Effects – Minor scalp irritation, dryness, or itching may occur. Rarely, users report dizziness or heart palpitations (systemic absorption). ⚠️ Liquid Formula Can Be Messy – Unlike foam versions, the solution may drip or leave a residue if not applied carefully. User Experience & Tips: Best Results: Apply to a clean, dry scalp and massage gently. Avoid washing or sweating for at least 4 hours post-application. Patience is Crucial: Visible improvements typically take 4-6 months. Pair with Other Treatments: Combining minoxidil with finasteride (oral DHT blocker) or dermarolling may enhance results. Final Verdict: 4.5/5 ★★★★½ Kirkland Minoxidil 5% is a highly effective, no-frills solution for men combating hair loss. While it demands long-term use and may cause minor side effects, its affordability and proven results make it a top choice. If you can stick with it, this treatment can help restore thickness and confidence. Recommendation: Buy in bulk for long-term savings, and track progress with photos to monitor improvement over time.

It Definitely Works, thank Goodness
I can speak to the fact that this product works if your hair loss is due to age-related male or female pattern hair loss. If you're not sure, you should get a diagnosis. My doctor correctly diagnosed, but I got a 2nd opinion from a Dermatologist because as a woman I didn't want to hear that it was genetic rather than circumstantial, but genetic meant it wasn't temporary. He told me to do a hair count each day for a couple weeks, but I kept it up for a few months. I went from losing over 100 hairs when shampooing--truly alarming!-- to now seeing 4 or 5 hairs a day. 5% was lab-tested for men, so that's why the manufacturers label it that way. My Dermatologist said he prescribes 5% for both men and women. But my first buy was the 2% labeled for women which seems to only come in the liquid. Either product is supposed to be applied to the scalp, not hair, but it is inevitable some of your hair will get included. I don't like to wash my hair more than about 1 time a week and found the 2% liquid meant washing my hair every 3 days at best. It includes propylene glycol which tends to make my hair strands greasy quickly. I ordered the foam to use instead since the glycol isn't in it and I can go over a week without washing my hair. If you're a woman you know how hairspray build up makes your hair easier to work with and the residue from foam Minoxidil does that too. I started using Minoxidil Sept 3, and by October 13 or sooner, I could see tiny hair activity. I was fearing the initial hair loss, but if it caused any I was already losing a lot each day, so there was no giant obvious hair purge for me. The photos are hard to capture the progress. My photos are 2 from when I'd been applying it for a month and 2 from today, 5 months later. If you have been losing hair for years then it will not all come back, but anything that hasn't scarred over (like my bald husband who lost his in his 20s before Minoxidil) will come back quickly. It's just that it t takes a while to feel or see the thickening from root to hair ends. It takes longer for we women who wear our hair longer since the comeback hairs have to catch up. I applied Minoxidil only once per day in the evening, not always at the same time but as close as I can. It now takes me only 10 minutes or less, at first it was 15 to 20. I apply it as shown by a NYU Langone Health video on Youtube. This is a lifetime commitment since you will begin losing the hair again when you stop. I figure when you're 80 if it gets to be too much you can just start wearing cute hats and scarves.

Great product
Works well for me. I can see and feel the difference. My scalp is not sensitive anymore.

Works, but wish it was a spray.
I am in the process of trying to get my hair to grow and be thicker, I have noticed some slight improvement, but I know it can take some time before you see major results. The only reason I gave this a four star is because I wish that it came with a spray top. The dropper is very hard to do and can make it very messy.

Works okay, but takes time and consistency
The Minoxidil Foam is easy to apply and dries quickly, which I appreciate. I’ve noticed some improvement, but the results are slow and require strict daily use. It’s a good value for the price, but don’t expect fast changes. Decent option if you’re patient and committed to the routine.
