Adult sized sheath, child sized straps?
Straps lenght is way too short! Extended them as loose as I could but still short. Quality of the sheath is alright: sturdy as well as perfectly sized. Update: straps do adjust to preferred size, I just didn't find a way to do so at first. Fits as expected, good thing 2 came with it because the 1st one is as good as done.

Worth Buying!
This bokken is amazing! It's light as a feather, sturdy, adjustable for any width of your body! And the best part is, you can fit your sword right through it! Whenever someone does a cosplay, this is definitely a good accessory to have, even if you don't want to carry your weapon or toy around.

Not for rough play, actual ninja fights, or wearing for a couple hours.
I recently dressed up as a ninja for a family night event at my church. I own a couple of Cold Steel bokken (plastic training swords), and decided they would make a great costume addition to wear around children of various ages. All I needed was a way to strap the swords to my back, Leonardo-style. One person commented that they managed to attach two of these together crossed, and I was in for two. They arrived in mint condition, with not one but two straps which can be removed easily by little plastic clips. They can also be removed by ripping the clip off the sheathe, which I did almost immediately by accident as I had a sheathe slung over my shoulder and I was trying to adjust the length of the strap. Oops. Good thing I only really needed one strap per sheath. The construction appears to be a roomy plastic casing, wrapped in a nylon-or-other-plastic-cloth, with the plastic clips attached to more of the cloth which appears to be sewn on. It looks more sturdy than it proved to be, although I think the weakness is just a matter of really thin cloth and the clips aren't attached to the plastic casing. My bokken fit perfectly, and although I didn't find a good method of attaching the sheaths together, I found that if I ran the straps through a belt loop in the back, I had a workable outfit that more or less survived a run through a makeshift obstacle course and some talking on stage. There was one part where I had to go through a space that would be too tight to get the swords through, and score one for those plastic clips on the strap. Unfortunately, I also managed to tear two more of the plastic clips almost completely off the scabbard. In the end, while not super sturdy against an average night of ninja-ing with an audience of small-to-medium children, these were mostly functional, they fit my plastic swords perfectly, and they looked nice. I've since reattached the clips with hot glue, but admittedly I don't yet know if this will hold as well or better than what it arrived with. Authentic ninjas and Deadpool stunt doubles should probably steer clear, as these will shred the first time you land a jump off a simple three story building. For those looking for a nice costume piece, I'd recommend this.

MUCH smaller than photo; doesn't work quite as advertised.
So, this sheathe is advertised as being made for several kinds of toy/practice swords/blades, but any sword with a hilt that doesn't have a hand guard (think katanas, or shotos, for example) is going to fall through the sheathe. However, if they have even the smallest hand guard, it WILL sit in your sheathe. But that also leads me to why I'm leaving a somewhat negative review for this product. The next and most important reason for my somewhat negative review is that pretty much nothing else except blades that similarly sized to katana blades will fit. You have zero chance at sheathing a broadsword or "ancient" Rome style sword with this product. We do have a bunch of those awesome hard plastic black katanas, though. Anyways, the next and last issue, which isn't as important as the previous complaint, is that it is very hard to pull a longer blade out of your sheathe. And any tall person is going to smoke ceilings, ceiling fans, dangling objects, etc if you use this sheathe in the house lol. I'm not dumb though; I know back sheathes for swords is absurd and something of fantasy fun and looks nifty. But I didn't expect it to be this difficult. This isn't my first cosplay rodeo. Heck, it isn't even my kids' first times. We are all super disappointed in how hard it is to get your weapon out. But not all is bad. The sheathe itself is made out of a nylon or nylon like material that will hold up to use so long as you're not dragging it around on concrete. I mean, these are 7.99. You can't complain about quality at that price, and these are much better than what 7.99 should get you. But, this also means that the potential for something to be poorly made, and that would be the strap that comes with this to keep the sheathe on your person. However, it isn't a huge deal and easily replaceable. It is also VERY thin and left marks on the kids and I that were closer to small cuts than they were to itchy irritation. Keep that in mind. Oh, and none of us are fat so we aren't like stretching this thing to its limit or any thing lol. No offense to any one; I've been overweight before and I know what it is like to stretch costumes out lol. TL;DR: Product is smaller than photo shows and it definitely will not hold most toy sword styles. Your sword must have a hand guard on the hilt to stay in the sheathe, as well. Quality is absolutely amazing for 8 bucks.

Excellent katana sword sheath!
Very good sheath! I am more than pleased with it! My chisa katana in it's saya, fit well in it, with length to spare. My practice katanas fit in it perfectly. It is very sturdy nylon with an adjustable strap. Great price for such nice quality! It arrived fast and was very well packaged.I am very happy with it!

Worked really well for 36" wooden Katana.
Only thing I didn't like about this is that it arrive with a big crease in it where it was folded for shipping. I was afraid that would ruin it and make it look bad if nothing else. Turned out not to be an issue. This is a must have if you have a wooden, plastic, etc. training blade without a sheath. Perfect for Cosplay too. Fits well, can be swapped right or left side of back, I think it could work fine worn at belt level too but I haven't actually tried that. Worth buying. I will probably buy another and see if it will allow me to carry both of my katanas on my back. Really pleased with this purchase.

Fits swords with a guard, or else it will just slide through... The history of why it says banned in Canada fascinates me. It's not especially high quality, though it's not badly made.
