Beim Auspacken fällt zunächst mal auf, dass in die Optische Gestaltung der Schachtel einiges an Energie geflossen ist. Allerdings fehlt innen drinnen das Verpackungsmaterial, und wenn es nur dünnes Papier wäre. Die vier grossen Einzelteile scheuern aneinander und kommen schon mit gut verteilten leichten Kratzern im pulverbeschichteten Stahlrohr an. Zum Zusammenstecken der Teile sollte man einen Gummihammer parat halten, denn wenn es nicht wirklich fest zusammen steckt, kommt man nicht an die kleinen Löcher zum Verschrauben heran. Das sollte später noch zum Nachteil gereichen. Denn erst mal kommt das böse Erwachen, wenn man das Teil auf den Standard Gepäckträger hieft. Das mag natürlich individuell verschieden gestaltet sein. Jedoch würde niemand behaupten, dass ein Hyundai i20 (VW Polo Grössenordnung) ein grosses Auto ist. Und dennoch ist das Gestell zu klein. Sprich es steht vorne und hinten nur wenige Zentimeter über den mit Fixpunkten fixierten Dachgrundträger drüber. Die Bohrlöcher in den Längsstreben, bei denen das Befestigungsmaterial zu fixieren ist, befinden sich alle innerhalb der Maße des Dachgrundträgers. Anstatt jeweils ein Loch aussen und eines innen. Man müsste also selber bohren, ansonsten ist eine Befestigung unmöglich. - Und am Besten das Befestigungsmaterial auch gleich selber aus Blech biegen, weil einfach zu wenig Platz ist, und die Befestigungsschienen relativ gesehen zu gross sind. Insofern eine komplette Fehl-Komstruktion. Die einzige Chance hat man, wenn man einen Dachgrundträger besitzt, den man flexibel nach vorne und hinten verschieben kann. Mit Dachreling zum Beispiel. Aber das haben wiederrum nur grössere Autos eigentlich. Und da wirkt das Teil dann doch etwas unterdimensioniert. Wirklich gut passt es vermutlich nur auf einen Daihatsu Cuore, oder einem Smart. Oder auf einen Geländewagen mit Dachreling eben. Der kann dann nämlich vermutlich noch ne Jet-Box daneben packen. Seitlich ist das Teil auch relativ schmal. Und so passt dann gleich noch ein Ski Träger daneben. Aber wer sich einen Pick Up leisten kann, kauft doch keinen Dachkorb für den Preis. Und da ich einen Kleinwagen habe, komme ich soweiso nicht drum herum das teil zurück zu senden. Und etzt kommts: Zerleg das Teil mal wieder. Da müssen schon ein paar starke Männer dran ziehen, von allen Seiten, dass man das Ding wieder auseinander bekommt. Alleine keine Chance.

We drive a Honda Civic and have a Yakima roof rack with two bike trays, and were looking for a smaller "soft side" carrier to fit into this space. This cargo carrier fit nicely inside this space and appears easily adaptable to spaces that are not exactly 34" by 34". The carrier material is sturdy and coated on the inside with a PVC coating. The zipper is a double pull zipper, which is nice because it can be adjusted to open from one side for easy access to the contents inside. The straps are long - almost too long, in fact, so we may end up cutting off the excess strap material. The carrier is advertised as water resistant and not waterproof, and so our plan is to primarily use the carrier for things that we don't mind getting wet, and then pack other items inside a garbage bag first before putting them inside the carrier. We used the carrier for the first time this past weekend on a camping trip and it worked great! We put our folding chairs inside, along with some Thermarest pads and pillows. We drove at speeds up to 70 mph and did not notice any more noise than what we usually hear with the roof rack. We did manage to drive through a TREMENDOUS rainstorm lasting 10-15 minutes. Some of the contents inside the carrier did get a bit damp, but the pillows that were stored in a garbage bag were completely dry. Overall, we are very happy with this product and would highly recommend it!!

worked well for us, we had a 10+ hour drive each way in the rain and then go home and had to take off again without time to unpack for a couple days! it was a pretty crazy month all around, but the camping stuff we stored in the cargo carrier faired well considering the drive then being left on the roof in the rain for an additional couple days. We really put this carrier through its paces. by the time we unpacked there was in fact some water in the bottom of the carrier, but we had just packed camp chairs and tarps and other things that can handle a bit of moisture. on the drive up everything stayed dry, we camped in the rain (oh joy) and had a very hasty take down of camp, so some of what went in the carrier was likely damp to start with. in spite of our poor treatment and haste this carrier did a great job for what we needed and I was grateful to have it. in terms of space on the way up when I was able to make sure everything was tightly folded and fit snuggly, we fit 2 large tarps, a 8 person tent, a small 2 person tent, 4 adult and 4 children's size folding camp chairs, and bedding for 8 ppl. so it has good space if you are careful to use every corner and good wetness protection if used properly and with dry items originally packed into it.
