Brilliant little lathe
This is a small lathe, so if you are only using it to make pens or similar size items, it does the job very well. As usual, read the specs. It is sturdily made, stable on the bench thanks to the outrunner legs and extremely quiet. It comes with a number of other items which turns it into a small circular saw, for instance, although I have to say I haven't had the time to explore these yet. I think I am going to get a lot of pleasure out of this machine. Highly recommended.

Good for the money
It’s good for the price, not the most accurate, not the biggest working area, but great for pen blanks, chess pieces and similarly sized projects.

No support, no tools
I purchased this little lathe in order to get into wood turning. I did a little turning some years ago at a course I was on, but apart from that I'm a raw beginner. I wouldn't recommend this for beginners. It needs some modifications especially the tool rest which is way to small to be of use. More importantly, when I received the item I realised that the MAXIMUM recommended tool size was 2mm! The chisel/tool supplied with the lathe was useless; I tried sharpening it every five minutes, but lost its edge immediately. I tried to get advice from the makers/suppliers about what cutting tools I should be using with this lathe, but no replies from the company. I have found it impossible to get support/help from the suppliers. Amazon eventually came back to say they were not able to help as they could not illicit a response from the suppliers either. So, I have a lathe, with no idea what cutting tools to use or where to get them! I gave this two stars and not one as I have been able to create a very basic dowel from a small cube of pine using one of my regular 1/8" mortise chisels, so it can work.
