Chrome Isolation Matte Gel Top Coat

As far as matte top coats go, Gaoy Matte Top Coat is good, and is competitive with the performance and look of others in its price range on Amazon. It goes on smoothly and settles well, and after curing leaves virtually no streak or shine, and has no stickiness to it whatsoever. It smells the same as other gel polishes and top coats - nothing stood out as smelling off or particularly different. Compared with the original color (before applying the matte top coat), the color seemed to stay consistent - it did not look overly faded or washed out. For the price of this matte top coat, you really can't go wrong! I tested 6 matte top coats in the same general price range on Amazon (including this one). To conduct this test, I applied 6 different matte top coats to 6 swatches that had already received two coats of gel polish (I did NOT remove the dispersion layer from the gel polish after curing). Then, I applied one coat of each matte top coat to each swatch (using a normal sized coat - not super thin, but not thick either). I then cured each for 90 seconds. I kept a control swatch so that the colors could be compared. I included photos of the overall test, and a photo of the control nail and this matte top coat. There were some very subtle differences among them, but overall any of them (including this one) are good matte top coats. I would recommend this matte top coat!

This stuff is amazing. Dries so quickly and makes any gel polish into a perfect matte finish without making it look gloopy or breaking up the polish. It is easy to use and works like a dream

Best Matte top coat to date. Goes on smooth, dries well and super matte. I use this particularly for chrome isolation and it's been the best decision Ive made adding this to my kit. Works great, lasts long, personally have had no issue with chipping or peeling.

This is a great, thin matte top coat. Works really well for isolated chrome. The matte finish is very even when you cure it. There aren’t any weird splotchy patches like with other brands.

This top coat is accurately hyped!! Perfect for chrome isolation so I'd 10/10 recommend it for that but it can be a little streaky if you don't finish it with a glossy top coat after you do your Chrome. That could absolutely be a me problem but it happened more than once. It isn't very thick so you're not adding a lot of bulk to your nail. Luke to no odor, HUGE bottle (will probably outlast the shelf life for most ppl)
