I recently purchased the Insta360 3-prong to 1/4-inch Adapter and couldn’t be happier with its performance and versatility. This adapter is a game-changer for anyone looking to expand their mounting options for their Insta360 camera. It’s okay but not great. Even with a tight turn camera can still be moved. Brought as back up so hopefully I won’t need it but worth getting as a spare.

Despite this being a core part of many accessories, insta360 claim that it is not in fact safe to use with the x5 (which their site states it is compatible with). This does require a 2-prong to 1/4” connector which can’t be bought separately, but when you ask insta about it they say this adapter shouldn’t be used and you should connect to the 1/4” screw. Stay away from any accessory that features this connection, since they have said it’s not suitable and risks damage, and I’ve included the email from them where they have stated this and noted the risks from using this product and the required connector.

I was honestly surprised this didn’t come included, thinking back to GoPro-style accessories from a few years ago, but for what it offers at such a modest price, it’s a total winner! This accessory is exactly what I needed to elevate my Insta360 Ace Pro 2 setup. It’s affordable, especially compared to similar add-ons for action cameras, and feels like an essential for anyone serious about capturing great content without overspending. A few highlights: Excellent value, It solves a real need (enhanced audio or functionality?) without breaking the bank. I love that quality doesn’t mean expensive here. Perfect companion for Insta360, Seamlessly integrates and helps me get more out of my Ace Pro 2, whether I'm vlogging, recording ambient sound, or just want more flexibility in my rig. Well-designed and intuitive, Simple to attach and use. Great design means I can spend more time creating and less time fiddling with gear.
