I read a lot of reviews on this - in particular those that are 3 stars and below. Even the fours mentioned some warping and edge damage upon receipt, but the package I received was in perfect shape. The package was a moisture resistant (proof?) bubble wrap sealed envelope. The corners were protected by plastic binders. The edges were cleanly cut and straight, the quality of the wood is excellent. Yes, the actual dimensions are about 1/8" short of 12", but that is not a problem unless one actually needs 12" exactly. BTW: the short dimension is apparently a common complaint on every one of the comparative items I looked at.

Overall, they appear to be well laminated of good material, but my pack did come a bit warped. Flatness for something so thin is more or less expected but packaged in this amount. I thought it would be a little bit better.

These have been very good. They come all wrapped together with corner protectors. These aren't warped like some of the others I have bought. The material is fairly consistent. I use these to make wooden tags on my laser, once in a while I'll get one that is denser and the laser doesn't make it through. I will definitely be ordering these again when I need them.

Nice, solid dowel rods. Cut cleanly with a handsaw. Useful for repairing wood items and decorative purposes. A little pricy, but for the quality and ease of not having to go out hunting them, fair.

I wanted these dowels to make handles and they worked out perfectly. The quality of the wood is excellent. They are all perfectly straight and exactly sized. They are not too porous which is good. I used a lathe to shape the end of the handle and the wood held up. Basically this is not cheap dollar store wood. It is quality and the sizing is accurate. I would definitely recommend these dowels for any project.

These dowels are nice and straight, not bent or warped, showing they have been stored well before shipping. They appear to be strong and there are no knots or imperfections in them that could mar the look of them overall. I have ordered them for a plant wall that I wish to make, and intend to cut them into thirds and secure them to the wall to hang plants from. I like that I can choose what length to cut them so that I can use them to support shelves or simply to hang a small plant. My wall will be a wonderful, eye catching area in our living room and I am looking forward to making it. The price is good for solid wood and I would definitely recommend them for multiple uses. They could be used to make a coat rack, hang vertical banners from them, etc. The possibilities are endless.
