Love it! Especially the silicon cover. It adds more room at the top and still leak proof

Very good product it stores a lot of food it keeps it warm the seal is very tight and good quality and even if food is left in there for some time it does not smell.

The lid is made of a rubber-like material and is not very secure so it can easily come off while it is in your bag. The lid also ended up getting stained by the sauce in my food during its second use and it isn't cleaning off.

Bought this to go with the heated lunch box, and it's the perfect size for the lunch box, heats up the food evenly, and we don't have to worry about the heating element getting too hot, like we would if we were using plastic containers. I have to admit when I first used this in the microwave, I stood right there ready to open the microwave if it turned out it wasn't actually microwavable, but there wasn't any problem, with or with out the silicone vented lid. The silicone lid had a tiny learning curve to it so it was on completely so it would seal correctly, but it works great, seals well, and the vent makes heating food clean and easy. I will be buying more of these so we can food prep lunches.

I was in the market for stainless steel meal prep / leftovers storage containers, after years of using both plastic and glass versions of the Rubbermaid Brilliance containers that have gotten surprisingly popular lately. I wanted to get away from plastic for health reasons, but I wanted something lighter weight and more durable than glass that could go straight from the freezer to the oven, so stainless steel seemed to fit the bill perfectly! Unfortunately, it seems like the US is a bit behind the rest of the world on this front, because we don't have that many stainless steel food storage options available in comparison. I bought these Bentgo MicroSteel containers (in every size but the snack size) to compare with one of the only other microwavable stainless steel meal prep containers on the market available in the US, the Black + Blum stainless steel lunch box / meal prep containers. Unfortunately for Bentgo, I wound up pretty disappointed. First the good: it's lightweight, the stainless steel is sturdy, there's no plastic (the lid is all silicone), and the silicone lid is pretty easy to clean. Unfortunately, the bad outweighed the good for me: 1. It's only oven-safe up to 350 F and for a max of 60 minutes, which is just horrendous. If you've ever tried heating a frozen meal-prepped meal straight from the freezer in the oven, you'll know that it can sometimes take longer than 60 minutes or need a higher temperature than 350 F to fully heat up, depending on what it is and if you have it covered. This makes these Bentgo containers a nonstarter for many frozen meals. 2. The lid is outrageously difficult to close. You have to press the lid down at one end, then stretch it over the other while pushing down pretty hard – it takes a lot more upper body strength than you'd think. Otherwise, you'll end up with one corner that refuses to slide over the container. So much effort considering: 3. The lid is aggressively not leak-proof. As in, just carrying it around with you is enough for it to leak, even when it's sealed all the way. 4. The fit and finish on the stainless steel is a bit questionable. The steel looks and feels really chintzy, almost like it's not even food grade stainless steel, with a coarse, glittery finish that doesn't feel great to the touch - it could be worse though. While the lip is mostly rounded, for whatever reason it comes to a slightly sharper, but not sharp, edge at each of the corners. 5. The paintjob looks and feels pretty cheap and fragile. There's a sharp, hard line where the paint stops that is VERY noticeable to the touch, especially when cleaning – it's pretty unpleasant tbh. I'm also willing to bet that this silly paintjob is the reason the containers are only oven safe up to 350 F / 60 minutes. 6. The silicone lid is too floppy and weak to actually allow stacking when containers are full. Expect a slightly teetering stack and some leakage, depending on the weight. For my money, Bentgo needs to lose the paint, use a higher quality stainless steel (or at least better finishing), and completely rethink their lid design. I for one would love to see Bentgo take a crack at a v2 of these stainless steel containers, because I think they could be great with more iteration and I think more stainless steel food storage options are sorely needed on the market. But as they are right now? You're better off with another brand.
