This is a very good tank for the filling system (sold separately)
The price is ridiculous, if you are not using a lot and keeping them for years. That said, (with the filler system $12. walmart) these are easy and safe (IMO) to use as directed. I ordered 2 at first and one more after filling them. I am very sure that (eventually) I will save money and it surely will be more practical to have on hand, as opposed to having to find traditional propane bottles when needed.

Love these.
We move these. We use a lot of propane. These save a TON of money. This is simple enough to refill my wife can do it. So much better than the green cans.

Great Step in Eco-friendly Propane
They work great and solve one of the environmentally saddest products - the disposable propane tanks. I'm still working thru the 3 I filled at the beginning. Filling wasn't difficult, but you'll want to have a few of these tanks so you can refill them at the same time. The fill/release valve is especially useful and convenient.

Beware of that bleeder valve. Either poorly designed or a lack of quality control at the factory.
The fuel keg bottle is well built and very solid. You could probably bounce it off the ground without putting a dent in it, but, I wouldn't recommend it. It might go "Boom". The brass connector is really solid also. But, that bleeder valve. Oh! That bleeder valve! I've purchased eight of these bottles , two from this vendor, and four from a local vendor. I've already had to return two bottles because of that bleeder valve. I had no problem getting the defective bottle replaced from the Amazon vendor, nor one bottle from my local vendor. The Amazon return was quick and easy. Just make sure that you vent all of the propane from your bottle before you return it. But, my issue is with that cheaply made bleeder valve. It appears that the little piece that turns to open the bleeder valve is made of some type of aluminum or pot metal. It can already be white with oxidation when you receive the bottle. Several of my "new" bottles were in that condition. One that I bought stopped working at the first opening of the bleeder valve. It hissed with escaping air for about one second and then stopped like it was clogged. I bought another one that worked the very first time that I filled the bottle. The second time I tried to fill it, it started venting, and then just stopped. It was like the turn valve just snapped off intrnally. It would never open again when I turned the valve. So, the Fuel Keg folks need to take another look at their design and make the bleeder valve a little more robust. In the mean time, I would recommend being gentle when trying to open the bleeder valve. You can't force it. It either opens or it doesn't. Just start filling the bottle, and turn on the bleeder valve until you hear it hissing, and hold it there until it's filled. Don't over turn the valve. The good thing is that they can be returned if defective. And when they do work, they work very well, and they make refilling the bottle a quick and easy task.

Heavy duty compared to single use propane tanks!!
After some review, I decided to go with the Mr. Heater Fuel Keg over the Flame King refillable 1LB tank. The main and the most important one in my eyes is that the bleeding system is a lot easier to use, it does not need a hex key like you need with the Flame King. The fuel keg is very simple; all you need to do is turn the valve located at the neck of the tank and push down on the handle with the filler nozzle and you just wait till you see a steady stream of liquid propane coming out of the vent hole (about 1 minute) and you're done. I have refilled them numerous times without and leaks. My suggestion is if you go with either refillable tank, I would purchase brass caps with a rubber seal that way if there is ever any failure it is contained.

Great alternative to those 1lb green containers.
Does what it's supposed to. I have 10 of them now and each one filled perfectly. I did use the refill kit made by Mr. Heater to make things a little easier. I'll never buy one of those 1lb green bottles again. Only gripe I have is they are delivered in those bubble wrap bags and the bottles get a bit banged up. But so far all of them have kept pressure. Defiantly a good purchase.

No Dings, Rust, or Damage. They Are New
Just received (4) Fuel Kegs from Mr Heater. Looking them over; like new, no dings, no rust, just shiny like you would expect. Very compatible with my 20 lb fuel tank, and refilling hoses. Liked them so much, I ordered (4) more to support my Mr Heater BIG Buddy during outages. Very functional in that you can use them anywhere you need propane. Easy installation and connection. Amazon has $4.00 off per bottle. Great value for the money. Highly recommend.

Works as advertised! Follow instructions to the letter
Bought 2 kegs for use with Mr Heater fill kit. Had no issues on first fill. Relief valve works as advertised. Take your time and follow instructions to the letter. Always ck that Keg is properly aligned to threaded brass top nut. Hand tighten only. Good value for the money!
