Ashoka Ready to Eat Indian Meals Since 1930, 100% Vegan Dal Tadka, All-Natural Traditionally Cooked Indian Food, Plant-Based, Gluten-Free, and with No Preservatives, 10 Ounce (Pack of 5) : desertcart.ae: Books Review: We have rarely eaten Indian food but when I had the chance to try this, I figured why not be a bit adventurous. Note while I did receive the product for free, I do have to pay income taxes on the full value of it. My review is based solely on the product itself, nothing more. You receive 5 different packs of Dal Tadka which I would describe as a mildly spiced lentil soup. This product is designed as a vegan option. It was very easy and quick to make (either boil water on the stove or in the microwave) but the portions were small. It said two portions but it really is one. Basically enough for a small bowl at lunch. It tasted good but don't expect to feed more than one person per package. Review: This is extremely fast to prepare. You can just pour it in a bowl and stick it in the microwave - it doesn't get much easier than that. It says for 2 minutes, but I think that may be a little long for my microwave, which is a 1200 watt. The package is 400 calories, and it's a decent amount. Flavor-wise, it's a little hot but not overwhelming, and I would say it's "all right". It makes for a decent side, especially given how quickly you can prepare it, and it's not bad, but I also wouldn't say it's amazing. The ingredient list is nice, too - there isn't a bunch of dyes or anything in it. So it's worth a try, but $5 a package is probably a bit much.

This shahi rajma is delicious and pretty much ready to eat. You simply need to heat up the contents and you're rewarded with delicious and authentic Indian cuisine straight from the country itself. The taste is very rich and flavorful, and the texture was great for something that was in a bag. At its current price, each bag is about $5, which is on the high side. If you're seriously craving Indian food and want to have it in minutes, it's worth the price.

I'd never heard of Dal Tadka before having an opportunity to review this, but I like trying new things so I gave it a shot. It's rather soupy (I still don't know if it's a soup or a sauce to put on rice, but I ate it like a soup). It was delicious. Not too spicy, but not bland at all. I'd get it again.

These ready to eat meals are very convenient if you don't have time to cook a full meal. I ate them with rice, butter, and hot sauce. I found that without adding anything this specific flavor was a bit bland and not a very big portion. The ingredients are simple and there isn't anything in them that you won't know when reading the ingredient lists, that's my favorite part.
