I, like many of the previous reviewers, really liked the idea of an environmentally responsible laundry detergent. I would have preferred a sample size as a try-before-you-buy rather than forking over nearly $30 for 140 pods that I may or may not like, but so far I am not disappointed with my purchase. Previous reviewers mentioned that the casing of the pod does not dissolve in cold water. I don't wash in any other temperature so I just did what we do with all the pods we've ever purchased and swished it around in the water by hand before adding clothes. The casing was either not dissolving or dissolving VERY slow. Rather than take a chance due to some of the other reviews, after all the detergent had been released from the capsule I pulled the casing and threw it in the garbage. I'm not happy about trying to be eco-smart and then throwing away something that I'm not totally convinced is going to break down, but I did not want to have the issue others have mentioned where the casing glues to their clothing. The smell is very light and clean, not overpowering or perfumed at all. I found it very pleasant and my clothes kept that scent even after drying with nothing but unscented wool dryer balls (also a first time thing). How effective are these at cleaning your clothes? The clothing I washed in my trial load were: 1 set of cycling bib shorts worn for a 20 mile ride, 1 pair of yoga capris worn for a 4 mile walk, 2 quick-drying athletic shirts worn for the above activities, a pair of underwear, and 2 pairs of socks. I live in southern Florida and it is hot and humid so any physical activity can create a lot of moisture and odor. I washed my load on medium load size, tap cold wash, and used the heavily soiled cycle. I used one laundry pod and, as noted above, dissolved it in the water by hand before adding clothes. When the cycle was complete, I did the smell test. The chamois on my bike shorts and the armpits of my shirts smelled fresh with no lingering odors whatsoever. I am VERY impressed. I have not worn any of my clothes yet so I cannot speak in regard to skin irritations or allergic reactions, but I've known people that couldn't use Tide or they broke out in hives (and had no known allergies prior to this) so I would imagine some people may be sensitive to this as well. So far I am very pleased with my purchase and can't wait to try the dishwasher pods (I still haven't convinced my boyfriend that dishwashers are unnecessary lol).

I was hoping I could say that this is a great product, but it really isn’t. The price is very steep and the quality of the product is simply mediocre. It does make your laundry smell a little better but you have to use like three of them or more to do that with. They are very convenient for traveling and the box size is is great.

These laundry pods are great and they are all I use now for my laundry! Typically one pod does the trick but to wash my pet’s reusable puppy pads I sometimes need two and that works great. I switched to these from liquid detergent in an effort to reduce plastic bottle waste and use a more natural soap. I love how the pods come in a box too. No waste. However, not sure if anyone else experienced this issue but when I got the box of 144 pods delivered it was in an Amazon envelope and the box was completely open. Pods were spilled out but not damaged luckily. I would advise Amazon to package these more securely if possible. I did not request a return because nothing was damaged but I would like to get the word out that this box packaged in an envelope is not ideal. The box does open easily when shipped (it not being taped shut I’m sure contributes to this but again, a no-waste solution which I like so I think packaging it more securely would be great).

I've been using Dropps for about a year now and find them ecologically responsible (no plastic jug to recycle) and easy to use. They get clothes clean and fresh smelling.

I’ve been using these for a couple of years and my boyfriend and I both love them! I’ve never had an issue with these leaving residue or odor. My boyfriend is a framing contractor and his clothes are often filthy- never once have we had an issue with odors remaining after washing. He also has Psoriasis, so we have to be very selective with detergents. Again, Dropps have never caused a problem. Like another reviewer said, I usually put the pod into my top loader first with the water running to ensure it dissolves completely. However, I was washing a large load of blankets the other day and decided to throw a second pod in on top after the blankets were loaded (after washing I realized the second pod was totally unnecessary- the scent was a little too strong with two) and there is no residue. I can only assume the people having issues may have machines in need of service. I’ve also never had issues with delivery or packaging. All pods have arrived in great shape with no damage to the packaging. I love that I can toss the empty boxes into our wood stove or recycling bin. No wasteful plastic! Definitely try it! They sell smaller packages if you aren’t sure, but we do a lot of laundry and the large box seems to last forever. I think the last box lasted most of the year (two people and two dogs in our household)
