High Quality, Sharp, and Perfect for Kevlar Cutting
The Jonard Tools KCS-4 Fiber Optic Kevlar Cutting Shears are exactly what I needed for cutting tough materials like Kevlar, cabling insulation, and tape. These shears are incredibly sharp and durable, making them perfect for anyone working with fiber optics or similar materials. Right out of the box, I could tell that they were built to last. The high-carbon stainless steel blades are extremely sharp and hold their edge well, even after repeated use. I’ve used these to cut through Kevlar-reinforced cables, and they slice through with ease every time. The serrated blade is a fantastic feature, as it grips onto the material, providing a cleaner and more precise cut. One of the things I really appreciate about these shears is the ergonomic design. The wide handle opening makes them comfortable to use, even when wearing gloves or if you have larger hands. The fiberglass-infused polypropylene handles feel sturdy, and I can see these lasting through long-term, heavy-duty use. The handles provide just the right amount of grip, so they don’t slip out of your hands while cutting tough materials. Overall, the cutting performance is top-notch, and the build quality is excellent. These shears are solid, reliable, and well worth the price for anyone who needs a dependable tool for cutting Kevlar or other tough materials. Whether you’re working in fiber optics or just need a strong, durable pair of shears, these are an excellent choice. Highly recommend!

Good cutters
These are great for cutting fiber. Nice clean cut. I'm glad I purchased them.

Very good shears
These are fantastic. You don’t know how bad you need these u til you try cutting Kevlar and dyneema with regular cutters. These are razor sharp and have grippy teeth and a lot of leverage. Together those three features make them perfect for their intended purpose. Just don’t use them for anything else!!! Really!!!

Cuts tough fibers like dyneema rope and polyester rope
I do rope eye splicing in double braid rope such as Samson Stable Braid and Sterling Kraken ropes as well as in hollow braid UHMWPE ropes such as Dyneema and Spectra. Being able to easily cut the fibers in these ropes is essential in a good clean splice. These scissors are priced below their quality. The blades have very fine serrations that allow the successful cuts in these tough fibers.

Very good product but a bit expensive

Very strong and convenient
The grip and blade shape help make cutting armored cables with large strength members very easy. One caveat, if your a lefty be careful not to let the pad of your hand get between the crimping jaws when using the cutter.

Great sharpness, thick blades & nice rubbery coating. Haven't yet cut something super thick & will update if they don't hold true. Only con is the finger holes feel a bit too small for adult fingers and mine aren't huge. Still useable despite that but might be a problem if used iver a long period of time.

I bought a roll of Zing-It cord to make guylines for my tents and tarps. I have various scissors and cutters and I certainly have no trouble cutting the Zing-It, but the cuts are almost never clean, and they require multiple cuts with the scissors, or sawing motions with the cutters. This Jonard JIC-186 Kevlar Ergonomic Fiber Optic Cutter snips right through the Zing-It as if it were nothing more than a piece of fishing line, and the cut is always clean. I have some 2.3mm uhmwpe (same as Dyneema) cord coming soon, which promises to pose more of a challenge to the scissors. I will update once I've tried to cut through it.
