Developed for military use....so it works well
This stuff is amazing....cleans and lubricates just about anything and seems to keep the dreaded rust at bay. Some people don't like the smell ( a bit like aniseed or liquorice) but its not intrusive and I quite like it. Get a little pin dropper dispenser bottle with it....a little goes a very long way. Highly recommended for the trades or handyman with a shed full of rusting tools.

Excellent lubricant and leather conditioner
Love the stuff. Even got use to the slightly funky smell which does wear off after an hour or so. Good for reviving stiff leather as well as lubrication

Best tool cleaning and protection
This is the best oil I have used for cleaning and maintaining my work tools (Plumber), it lasts a long time and is easy to apply.

Probably the most useful oil you have never heard of.
Apparently this was “invented” around centenary ago for the German Army for use on their rifles (the strange name deriving from the fact that it was primarily a ballistic oil). Basically it is a very versatile oil with a wide range of uses (and I suppose in many ways a very early version of current multi-purpose “oils” such as WD40). It has a strange name and also a very strange smell, though not an especially strong or offensive odour. Aside from freeing and lubricating metal parts it is also exceptionally useful on leather. With leather it acts as both a conditioner and softener. Additionally it waterproofs leather very effectively as it absorbed into the leather rather than just sitting on the surface. Use it sparingly, it seems to be effective immediately, and there is no need to polish/brush off. It also seems to deal with mildew on leather better than any other product I know. As an additional bonus any metal fitting on hiking boots such as D rings or lace hooks which come into contact with it are also rejuvenated. It may appear expensive. I initially got the very small 50ml glass bottle to test its effectiveness and I was so impressed that I then got a 500ml bottle. Not only does this oil lubricate it does not solidify unlike most others. With a typical light oil initially after application there is not a problem, but a week or so later the oil takes on an appearance similar to grease and attracts dirt, this does not.

Universal oil with limitless uses.
This stuff is brilliant. I bought the spray can first and then decided to get this one because of its fluid, deep penetrating properties. Used it on a leather jacket that has become brittle with age and restored it to something like its former glory. It is very versatile and can be used for a number of uses. Originally formulated for guns and rifles to stop the moving parts and mechanism from seizing up, it can also be used for restoring the platina and shine to old wood, and it's brilliant for general maintenance of hinges, door handles and locks. Because it is pure oil with no added water, it acts as a superb water repellent for engine parts. The possibilities are endless. Thoroughly recommend.

Handy to have
Having read all the good reviews, thought this would be a useful item to join my arsenal of general purpose / specialised lubricants. It has a myriad of uses & well worth taking a look at the manufactures website. Just tried it on a slightly tarnished silver coaster & it restored it's original shine & hoping it will prevent future tarnishing. Will try it next on a pair of leather walking shoes, gather it softens & waterproofs leather.
