I’ve been eyeing magnetic grips with shutter releases for my iPhone 16 Pro Max for a while since I haven’t been able to master the art of holding the phone at a precarious angle and taking a photo without dropping it. I’ve been eyeing other brands and decided that I’d try Ulanzi again, which has made some tripods/phone mounts that I rather like and have worked well. Setup was virtually a non-issue. Pairing with my phone took less than a minute, and I could slap my phone on and be ready to take photos. Keep in mind that this is just a shutter releases and does not zoom, which is fine. Nor does it change modes between video and photo. Remote is detachable and is charged via USB-C and automatically powers off. Very nice. It feels very nice nice in my hand, like I’m holding my Canon cameras. Weight wasn’t an issue coming from DSLR’s with heavy lenses, so this felt fine. Good build quality, but I would have really enjoyed a wrist strap attachment on this. For $20, this is a great product and I could have easily spent 4x this (or 20x this price for Leica’s) and it’s a great value and I have given some away as gifts already.

I needed something I could attach my iPhone 15 to a tripod without removing the case (and potentially weakening the case's materials), and so I began looking for MagSafe compatible tripod mounts. When I found that this had the most positive ratings, I decided to pull the trigger, and I'm glad I did; this grip by Ulanzi is quite a pleasure to use. The magnet is more than strong enough for my iPhone to attach itself to the grip, and it won't let go unless I detach it myself. Connecting the Bluetooth remote button took less than 15 seconds to pair with my phone, and once paired, it takes less than 3 seconds to connect. I do love that the remote button is detachable. Also, if you hold the button in, it does produce burst shots on the iPhone 15, 15 Plus, or 15 Pro. I haven't used the cold-shoe mount yet, though I do have some accessories in mind that I'd like to try with it. The picture quality is what you would expect from the phone itself, so the grip doesn't enhance or worsen what the phone is capable of producing, although the front mirror of the grip does make it easier to frame a selfie shot. The only downside: I've found that the grip and the stuff attached to it will fall over when a tabletop tripod is used, so to counter that, I recommend using a slide mount to readjust the center of gravity. Other than that, it's a great MagSafe compatible grip. I highly recommend it.

Product works well. I like the camera feel it gives to the phone. The holding magnet is a little too weak for my liking so I use the clips. The removable shutter button pod is held in place by a magnetic. It’s nice that you can remove it for pictures but a word of caution, it comes off very easy and it is very easy to loose or fall off. I lost mine just walking with it.

Bought this to be able to take pictures with my phone while traveling and has been a lifesaver. Very simple to use, a great value for the price, the swivel helps take landscape and portrait images quickly and easily. It also can attach with non magnetic phones if needed whenever a friend might want to borrow it. Have been using it at home and for traveling and has helped me take better pictures with my phone. The detachable button also has great battery life as I can have it connected to my phone all day without having to recharge it. I think I've really only have had to charge it once when on a 2 week trip. I even dropped it in the sand and while at first it was stuck, after a good clean it was like new again. Overall great purchase. Would buy again.

I got thjs so I could use my smartphone as a secondary camera when out shooting with my digital slr. It's just not built for up and down usage, in my opinion. I'm sure it's great for selfies, but it struggled to connect regularly and for the magnet to hold when walking quickly or while riding in a vehicle.

If you are looking for a mount for your iphone and not interested in getting any of the models with a battery built in this product is the way to go. I have had no issues with connecting to Bluetooth and/or turning the device off as other reviewers have noted. I am using it with an iphone 17 pro. The mount is light and the magnet seems strong enough.

I have a few Ulanzi items and I like them all. I have a previous modle of the selfy mod and found that if dropped which was not infrequent, the bluetooth shutter became detached. Just happened so a search party is out. I never use the bluetooth shutter separately and find it's handy as an attached shutter operator. I superglued the button on so it won't come off. I happen to have another bluetooth shutter so all is not lost, still I don't find a need for it while othhers might. This time arounf the mirror is affixed which is nice because it too would fall out when dropped in the last one. Bluetooth paired flawlessly and worked great. The price is right. It's on a Oneplus 11, a larger phone and no worries in fit even with the clamps.

I bouthg this mount for my iPhone for my trip to Disney, the idea was o make it more practical taking picture and video of my vacation. The goods: the magnet are very strong and the phone never falls, very nice grip in size, able to rotate the phone for portrait mode. very good pairing with my iPhone, very light. The main issue here is that the battery that powers this mount is very very small. Does not last even half day if keeps on all the time. So it has to turn on and off all the time so this became an inconvenience. The idea of the remote is good, but should b like separate internal battery for that and to keep the bluetooth connection another bigger battery maybe of the size of the grip or able to use AA batteries. Again very nice device with a major flow. I don't really recommend this product if you intended to use for your vacations, will run out battery in 2-3 hours max.
