Yes it comes with a cord for power. It works very good.

Try unplugging and then check the shredder for paper stuck in the teeth. Oleg back in and try again.

Q: It says you don’t have to remove staples or clips????

I leave staples and ir does fine. I always take off paper clips no matter how small.
