Restored My Cutting Boards to Better Than New
I’m really impressed with the John Boos 2‑Piece Care Set. Both the Mystery Oil and Board Cream are very easy to use, and you only need a small amount each time. The instructions are simple, and the results were immediate — my boards’ natural color came back beautifully and honestly look better than new. They feel conditioned, smooth, and protected without any greasy residue. Great product and definitely worth it.

Great Product! Buy it!
From the product: "INGREDIENTS Natural unbleached bee's wax and food grade mineral oil." Also, "...For best results let the cream soak into the wood overnight, then remove the excess with a paper towel." Ignore that instruction. You will need to do it more than once. That's not a bad thing, it's just unusual seeing the instructions for a product tell me to use too little, instead of too much. I used this on a new bamboo cutting board. It worked great and really soaked in well. But don't plan on using the cutting board for a day or two after you first start treating it. A new board will really soak this up, and you want to err on the side of too much (which you can wipe off) versus too little (which may leave the board insufficiently treated). My board is 11-3/4" x 15-3/4" x 1-1/2", bamboo, with rubber feet on the bottom. I treated the bottom and side of the board first, leaving a little extra coating on it. Then I placed the board on a layer of paper towels to minimize how much I might have to clean up from my kitchen counter. After I rubbed the cream into the top, I left it to stand overnight. In the morning, I was still able to rub more in. I checked back every couple of hours and rubbed in more. I kept finding a few spots that could absorb more of the cream, so I covered the whole thing again. Don't wipe it off until you are absolutely sure it can't absorb any more. By then, you'll have very little excess cream, and you'll basically buff it off with the paper towel. Your board will be darker, and look beautiful. You'll want to leave it out on the counter, it will look so good. I bought two of these creams thinking I would use a whole tube on my brand new cutting board. But, in writing this review, I stopped to weigh the two tubes (using a digital scale we have) to see how much I used. The unopened tube weighed 6.0 ounces, and the tube I used weighed 5.0 ounces. All of that cream I used as described above, and I still only used 1.0 ounce (by weight). The cream is measured in the tube by fluid ounces, but at this small a size, it really is close. So I used 1/5 of the tube on a brand new cutting board, and won't have to use an ounce every time I treat the board after cleaning. Great deal. I apologize for the long review, but I hope this helps you make your decision on which product to buy. This one has just what the websites say is great for your cutting board. I am really happy with it.

The ultimate good stuff for your wooden cutting boards
Take a look at the pictures. THIS STUFF WORKS! The Boos Block Mystery oil and the Boos Block Board Cream work as a team. Although you can use either/or. I highly suggest you use both to get the full effect of just how great these products are. If you have cutting boards that have never been treated or are old with lots of use on them, this stuff will make them better than new. It is a two step process if you want the maximum protection and conditioning. Takes a bit of time but well worth it. You invested some good money for those wood cutting boards so why not invest some time to make sure they last. To get started make sure boards are clean and dry. Pour Mystery oil on board and rub a coat of oil on the whole board (top, bottom, sides). Wait 5 minutes and wipe off the excess. Let board sit overnight or all day depending when you oiled it. After it sits overnight, take a look and see if there's any dry spots left or spots where it needs a touch up. If it looks good move on to the Board Cream. The oil can be drippy so take care for spills. I used a bath towel under and elevated the board on a wire rack w/ legs for air circulation. The cream is a mixture of food grade mineral oil and beeswax. Squeeze a line or two on the board and rub it on the whole board. I used my hands to smooth it and rub it into the board. It will form a creamy layer over the whole board. As with the oil you're going to let the board rest overnight or all day to allow for the cream to penetrate the board. Then wipe off any excess, buff with a clean dry towel, and get ready to see the results of your time and effort. Remember to keep wiping till all the excess cream is gone, then buff. This worked on ALL my boards regardless of wood type. Even treated a Bamboo bowl my wife uses and it came out great. Your board will look so nice you won't want to use it. Remember to use in conjunction with Boos Mystery Oil for best results. John Boos MYSB Mystery Butcher Block Oil, 16 ounces

Great treatments for a great cutting board
These treatments for the Boos wood cutting boards gives the right start to a great product. When used b4 first use, then every month or so thereafter, the Boos boards should last for a long time and still deflect liquids while looking like the day you bought it.

Absorbs into wood.
Used this on my cutting board. It absorbs into the wood. Keeps it looking nice, not dried out. Leaves no taste or odor on the board. Very happy with this product.

Bought it together with my chopping board from same seller. Easy to use, feels nice on the wooden chopping board, but in the end it can be too expensive as you need to use it every month as recommended. And you use pretty much of the product for each treatment. Therefore I find the product to be too expensive. But a must have to keep your chopping board nice and well maintained. Lower the price and I would have given it 5 stars.
