I've always wanted to try wood burning but had no idea where to start. This FIRElood kit seemed like a good way to dip my toes in without spending a fortune, and it's been perfect for learning. The variety of tips is awesome - you get all these different shapes and sizes to experiment with. I've been having fun figuring out what each one does and how to get different effects. Way more options than I expected in a starter kit. Heats up pretty quickly and maintains temperature well. I can work for hours without it getting inconsistent or cooling down randomly. The temperature control actually works too, which is nice for different types of wood and techniques. Instructions are decent for getting started, though I ended up watching YouTube videos to really learn proper techniques. But that's probably normal for any new hobby. The carrying case is really handy for keeping everything organized. All the tips have their own spots so you're not constantly losing the tiny pieces or having them roll around loose. I've used it on different types of wood and it works well on all of them. Pine, oak, basswood - no issues getting clean lines and good detail work. Only complaints are that some of the finer tips can be a bit fragile if you're not careful, and the cord could be longer for better workspace flexibility. Also takes a little practice to get smooth consistent lines. But for the price this is an incredible value. Way cheaper than buying individual tools and gives you everything you need to figure out if you like wood burning. I've already made gifts for family and started a few bigger projects. Definitely got me addicted to this hobby and now I'm eyeing some fancier equipment. Perfect starter kit if you're curious about wood burning but don't want to invest heavily upfront.

I absolutely love these wood burning tips! Great quality and they heat up fast!I have been looking for some tips that I could do fine writing with and these are perfect! I highly recommend these and I will definitely be reordering them once they wear out!

Bought these as a gift for my father. He loves them and has made some very intricate wood burnings out of them.

These come unpolished, but polished up nicely with a denim strop and a bit of polishing compound. The unpolished finish maybe why these are less expensive than other options I viewed. I have a professional burner and these tips are not well suited for it. They have flattened the wire all the way to the base, and my machine (all machines I've seen) are designed for round wire at the ends. The flattened wire comes away from the screw-in pens much faster than a round one. Additionally these are NOT heavy duty. They don't claim to be, but I want to be clear that these bend easier than any of the other brands I have purchased, even the cheaper ones. The pictures show how it happens. They're easy enough to reshape but you can only do that so many times before the wire becomes fragile and snaps. With all of that said you may wonder why I gave these a four star rating, well let me tell you - these are my new go-to nibs. Ironically I purchased these to get the two shaders and they are the only two nibs I really don't like. But the other tips are amazing! The first picture shows how they write, calligraphy just became simple for me. They do a great job of fine dark lines too and burn evenly. The ball tips also are superior to my others. In summary - if you are a casual burner these will do everything you need. If you are looking to do something with fine details they're the best I've seen thus far. But be warned you will have to tighten the screws down as you burn and push the tips in further. Happy burning!

Every single one of them is still working, they heat more evenly and consistently without flaring or having to wipe them every 30 seconds. And all it takes is a needle file to adjust them. I've filed down almost every single one of them without breaking a single one. I needed a writing tip that was like 1 mm and they just don't seem to make one of those anywhere that are small enough!!

These are, by far, the best tips I've ever used!!! They are very sturdy, they burn evenly, and they don't build up carbon as quickly as the standard wire tips. I can get them clean with just a leather strop, so they don't wear as quickly. I will never buy another brand. I'm a customer for life!!!

Ich bin noch nicht lange beim Brandmalen dabei. Ich habe die Brennspitzen zunächst mal alle auf einem Übungsbrett, andere nennen es auch Opferbrett, mit unterschiedlichen Temperaturen ausprobiert. Ich finde die Spitzen super, auch wenn ich weiterhin noch üben muss. Die Spitzen sind stabil und mit ein wenig Übung erhält man gleichmäßige Schattierungen. Probiert es mal aus, es macht viel Spass
