TUSITA Saddle Bag Clip Mount: Perfect Fit, Pricey But Practical
The TUSITA Cycling Saddle Bag Clip Mount (Large Slot) is a great solution for cyclists who want to securely mount their Garmin Varia taillight or other compatible device directly on their saddle bag. The mount fit my saddle bag perfectly, with a secure and snug attachment. I placed it on an Ortlieb eTrunk bag. It feels very stable, and I have no worries about it bouncing around or coming loose during rides. This is especially important for a taillight, which needs to be unobstructed for maximum visibility. The only downside is the price. While the quality and functionality are definitely there, I did find it a bit more expensive than I was initially expecting for a relatively simple mount. Overall, the TUSITA Clip Mount is a great option if you're looking for a reliable and secure way to mount your Garmin Varia or similar device on your saddle bag. Just be prepared for the price tag.

Working Well With This Secure Setup
For extra safety in addition to the clip mount, I drilled 2 small holes through my saddle bag aligned with the top and bottom holes in the Tusita Cycling Saddle Bag Clip mount, and used black zip ties to secure the mount to the bag. It's a nice clean look, very secure, and taking my Varia RTL515 easy to put on and take off. Riding on gravel the mount setup has been very secure.

Not impressed
This was intended for use with my Ortlieb Seat Pack. The Seat Pack requires use of the entire seat post, so it's not possible to mount a standard light or the Garmin radar. By description, this looked like a solution. The pack has several slots to mount tail lights. It seemed to work initially, but testing in the driveway showed instability. I made sure it was snug before going out on a street ride. The mount fell off within 20 feet. I checked again, and made sure it was snug. At 2 miles, and 4 miles, it fell off. I carefully inspected the mounting bracket for signs of damage or manufacture defect, but there was none. It just doesn't work (for me), so I can't keep it. It may fit other seat bags better, but I would avoid this one if you own a bag made by Ortlieb.

Also supports horizontal orientation of RTL515, using 2mm hex key to reconfigure
This clip seems strong. It grips my RTL515 well, and it clamps on very tightly to the attachment strap on my large rear seatbag. On my bicycle, the best orientation for my RTL515 is horizontal. The Tusita mount as delivered is configured for vertical mount. I was pleased to find that it can be reconfigured for horizontal mount by undoing and redoing some bolts, as follows. Step 1 is to separate the two rectangular plastic components by removing two hex bolts on the back using a 2mm hex key. That step exposes the heads of the hex head bolts that attach the circular component, as seen in first photo. (Photo also shows two unused holes in vertical orientation between the two bolt heads on the left component). Step 2 is to remove those newly exposed hex bolts. Step 3 is to rotate the circular component by 90 degrees and replace the most recently removed bolts in the previously unused, vertically aligned, pair of holes. Step 3 is to reassemble the two rectangular pieces by reinstalling the first pair of bolts. These bolts are all previously treated with blue threadlocker and are pretty tight; I was glad to have a 2mm hex with a stout handle on it. I have made separate modifications to get the mount propped against my bag so that the light and radar are pointing directly back, but I can report that the radar functions well even when the angle is drooping down a bit so these separate modifications may not have been necessary.

Fit my Basil trunk bag
This worked perfectly for attaching my Varia radar to my Basic MIK trunk bag. I've used it many times over the past couple weeks. It's fairly difficult to get on the bag's strap, but that also means it's hard to come off. Unfortunately, I did have it fly off once as I was going over some train tracks. This also led to a scratched up Varia. Not great... However, the Varia still works and the mount has not come off since. I just make sure to check it before going out now to ensure it's all the way seated on the bag strap.

Good quality, but a design flaw UPDATED
UPDATE: Just bought another one and they have modified the design to include a screw at the bottom of the clip so it can’t come off by itself. Comes with an Allen key + a spare screw. Very impressed Seems to be of good quality. Mounted on the back of a Topeak saddle bag. Hit a pothole, and it flew off. Luckily the Varia was intact and the mounting clip innards could be fixed with some Crazy Glue. There's a small pin on the bottom of the clip that's supposed to prevent this from happening. However, it appears that the Topeak web strap's thickness prevents the clip from closing enough for this pin to fully engage. I considered locking it in with a cable tie, but the edges are rounded so it wouldn't stay on (some notches for this purpose would have been nice). Solution was to wrap some duct tape around the bottom of the clip so it cannot pop off.

Didn't work for me
Unfortunately, it broke about the to four months of usage. It also didn't attach securely to the saddle bag.

Sturdy construction and Works as Advertised
Works as advertised using the TUSITA Cycling Saddle Bag Clip Mount (Small Slot). The value is good, and the mounting is stable and secure. There is a small screw that secures the clip to whatever it is mounted to, if the clip passes all the way through the mounting fastener strap. I have my Garmin RTL 515 mounted to it.

Ideal para mi bolsa de portabultos trasera. Para los soportes con ranura estrecha, es necesario el clip estrecho. Precio razonable para lo que es.

Works really well on the right bag. Better than most of the other things I have tried.
