Works Great
Authentic taste. Texture seemed accurate when I mixed it according to instructions on the label. I used dashi instead of water to make mine but I don’t think it’s necessary. I got the odor of dashi stock from the flour itself when I opened the bag, and the instructions do say to just add water. So I think dashi is a nice extra, not a necessity, when using this brand. As a side note, benefit from my mess - be careful opening the bag! The flour is very fine and will poof all over the place. Use scissors to open it. Also, you will probably be surprised when it arrives, how small the bag is, but it makes more takoyaki than you think it will just looking at it.

Great Texture Base — The Flavor Depends on What You Add
This takoyaki flour worked well as a base, and I liked the texture it gave the batter. It doesn’t have any flavor on its own, so the taste really depends on what ingredients you mix in. In my case, the takoyaki didn’t rise as much as I expected. I used a new takoyaki maker I recently bought, but I feel like the machine cooks a bit too slowly. Because of that, I’m not sure if the issue came from the flour or the appliance. I’m giving it 4 stars because the mix itself is good, and I want to try it again using a different takoyaki cooker. I plan to repurchase it and experiment with another method to see if I get better results.

Authentic Takoyaki Flavor
This takoyaki flour is the real deal - tastes just like the takoyaki I remember from Yokosuka, Japan! The flavor is spot-on authentic, not some Americanized version that misses the mark. It's easy to use and makes consistent batches of delicious octopus balls every time. If you're trying to recreate that authentic Japanese street food experience at home, this is the flour you need. The taste brought me right back to eating fresh takoyaki in Japan. Love it and will definitely keep buying it for future takoyaki nights!

It's good, not as good as scratch but sometimes it's hard to get what you need to make this flower at home.
