Near Zero Latency with Pro Tools
*****NOTE****** THIS IS A THUNDERBOLT 2 DEVICE.Edit: Feb. 1 2019My headphone jack on the unit is no longer working properly. Only the Left ear of my headphones work now. I confirmed that it was the interface and not my headphones by trying 2 other 1/4in to 3.5mm adapters and 2 other headphones. Would like to exchange the interface but Amazon notified me that my window to do so closed. I have yet to contact Zoom about my issue. My original review is below:You can't beat it at the price point. This works perfectly with my mid-2015 MacBook pro. It's super convenient to record with my condenser microphone and lining in my guitar. Super sleek/modern design the big knob in the center of the interface is very intuitive and didn't take long at all to get used to. I would recommend this to anyone who still has a usb or firewire audio interface. The latency is virtually non-existent and perfect for casual home recording.Pretty standard note, but make sure you have your tac-2 interface unplugged before installing the driver via the website so you do not run into any problems.CON:Only con I'd say is that Zoom needs to be more transparent in specifying that this is a thunderbolt 2 device. This did not affect me personally. However, in other reviews I've seen this be a huge problem in regards to compatibility.

Good, may lack Support
Mixed feelings - right now it’s working and it’s working great BUT software support seems to be a very very slow moving train. I still have seen official support for Mac Mojave yet. This is a budget device. Know this. It wasn’t so easy to get working but when it does you will get the best sound and lowest latency ever for a unit at this price. For music hobbiests

Worked today for a very important recording session. thumbs UP
The only reason I got this guy is because i bought a new macbook running El capitan and protools 10 will not run on it and El Capitan does not support the current generation of Mbox. I am familiar with the Zoom brand as the H4N is pretty much the standard when recording audio during a dslr or red camera shoot. The Zoom TAC-2 was just cheap enough to allow me to buy it and avoid egg on my face for upgrading to a new macbook pro without doing the proper research. Today I recorded an earnings script for about 1 hour with it. 2 SM7B into a preamp and finally using this unit as an interface. First thing you'll need to become accustomed to is the single knob control. it's childishly simple to use though. press the knob until the item you want to control is lit and adjust it's volume. there are no discrete controls for selecting the individual sources on the hardware it self. Just press the knob. its selects the following: input 1, input 2, inputs 1&2 together, monitor out, and headphones. the knob presses make a thumpy/ click sound when pressed so you're better off setting all your levels before you are in a situation where making sounds is not favorable. I wont go in too deep in the item description because that info is readily available on amazon and the manufacture page. What i will say is that for the price the sound is decent - not better than the mbox- I did not sense any volatility or buggyness . No overheating. the unit performed for more than an hour with a recording session that ran 53 minutes with no issues. I'm not disappointed with the results. the Unit has virtually no learning curve. Again this unit was more of a contingency plan for me but anyone running EL capitan (or a PC) that needs a cost effective audio interface for their home studio or podcast station can confidently purchase this unit and save themselves a couple hundred bucks. I very important thing to note is that this unit only connects via thunderbolt. It is why I got it as the dynamic between new macbook pros and aging USB devices are changing and the two are drifting away from each other.

Was not able to connect with macOS High Sierra (10.13.6)
I bought this product instead of the Apollo Twin due to the much lower price, while still offering good options with connectivity to various devices and seemingly good functionality. However, after trying to connect it to my MacBook Pro unsuccessfully, I read the company's support documents clearly realizing and recognizing that this is a known issue and they suggest some workarounds/fixes, however, they are very generic and none of them work! After hours and hours of work trying to fix the connection issue (the computer won't recognize it and therefore won’t power on the device) I had no choice but to return the product and order the more expensive (3x the $) but hopefully a better supported and superior product, Apollo Twin... be careful potential purchasers if you have updated the macOS!

Stopped working after updating IMac
It worked perfectly well for a long time. One day Apple updated its operating system and boom! It never worked again. I now have a very expensive paper weight with no support from Zoom. It has been discontinued. The drivers in their website don't work; if I remember correctly, It stopped working with Sierra operating system which was released on Sept. 2016. $300.00 wasted since 2016!

Zero latency for 1/3 price of Apollo’s.
Coming from a USB interface, this is night and day difference. I’ve heard others say it’s trying to be a knock off apollo but honestly, it’s its own device and works amazingly. If you have thunderbolt on your machine I suggest this. For my Mac Pro with limited usb , it allows me to free up a USB port and removes any latency issues you might be having. It has mix software allowing you to create a headphone mix through the software for your vocalist but still records dry signal into your DAW. 5/ 5 , no issues, works as intended , and I love how the connections are in the back and the headphones go in the front. Most small interfaces in this price range reverse that and just make your desk cluttered. Picture attached. I love it !

***NOT COMPATIBLE WITH 2015 MACBOOK*** I feel kinda bad giving it a three star review
***NOT COMPATIBLE WITH 2015 MACBOOK*** I feel kinda bad giving it a three star review, but they don't tell you this on the website. As of March 2015, the devs didn't have an ETA of when it would work. Which sucks because I specifically bought it for the Thunderbolt capabilities and from all accounts I've read, it's a great unit.
