Excellent build and YES they work fine in H track
I purchased 3 of these to light a wall of our business with artwork and wanted the industrial/theatrical with barndoors lighting look. I am 100% satisfied and I'm pretty freakin' picky. Here are my observations: 1- First off they work fine in standard Home Depot (Lithonia Lighting) H track. So don't give that any mindspace. The bases are oblong vs. more traditional square bases, but that's a HUGE plus IMHO because once in the track, they can't be rotated like some cheap square based track lights can if some ham fisted employee tries to adjust them. That's impossible with these. Just like ANY 3 CONTACT TRACK LIGHT you buy at the Big Box, you just have to pay attention as to where the 2 contact tracks are on the H Track and where the single contact track is. Then make sure to place the 2 contact side of the light unit base so they will touch the 2 contact strip side [and vice versa] when you release the securing latch. That's it. Plus they pop right into the H track and when you release the securing latch they snap in absolutely 100% totally secure. 2- (a) Yes they are made with SOME plastic but so are most of the track lights you buy here and at the Big Box stores. For example, the base is plastic but that is a safety plus IMHO due to chance of getting shocked or shorts if base was metal. (b) The actual fixture, barndoors, and attachment to base are all metal. Even the screws for the most part are metal and not plastic. These are exceptionally nice lights and I may pick up one or two more just to use in our YouTube channel videos for effect for studio look. They look amazingly realistic to actual studio lights. Amazing.

Nice Little Track Light
This is a small light but that is why I purchased them. There is a larger version available as well. Anyway, installing was easy. I like the way they lock to the track, it's simple and makes for a solid connection. The lamp itself is well made for the money. They look quite nice after being installed and they provide directional lighting that is surprisingly bright (with included LED bulb). Zero issues with the four I purchased. I would purchase these again.

Great, almost amazing lights
These were purchased for installation in a retail store. For the price, the lights are very well built, on par with theatrical lights (just smaller). They worked just fine on the H track that was already installed, and the units appear to be very well built. I would give this product five stars except for two issues, one which probably won't bother anyone else. 1. As many other people have said, the lamps that are sent with these units are a bit hit and miss. Of the 7 units I purchased, I had at least 2 bad lamps. One didn't work, and another one fell apart as I was taking it out of the box. I ended up purchasing other lamps so I never tried the remaining lamps. 2. This issue is a minor issue, and probably not a problem for anyone else, but I really liked the idea that the focal length of the lamp was adjustable. Slide the lamp back in the unit to make more of a spot, slide the lamp front further to make more of a flood. The problem is that the lamp doesn't move back far enough to actually pull it back into the fixture. If the lamp had another inch of travel, that would solve this problem, and would actually be helpful. As a lighting designer for theatrical events, I was probably a bit over-enthusiastic about the ability to control the beam of light that way. Over all, these are very nice fixtures, and I'll be buying more for other projects. The barn doors are great for controlling the light spill, and they have a very nice theatrical look to them. So, if you're planning on replacing the lamps anyway, or you don't care about the ability to focus the lamp in any meaningful sort of way, these things are amazing!

Works great - requires bulb replacement to be dimmable
This is a review for the Amazon stock, not the chinese stock. They appear to be different models that support different track types. Despite the somewhat confused description, the Amazon stock connects to the standard 3 rail track, otherwise known as "H-Type" track. This is the common lighting track type you'll find in home improvement stores and sold on Amazon. While the base of the light is plastic, the locking mechanism does not require force to be applied in a way that would cause a problem, so the build quality is acceptable. The rest of the light is metal and of a good construction for the price. While the fixture does come with a GU10 LED bulb included, note that the bulb is not dimmable and will just strobe if dimmed. However, you can easily replace the bulb with another GU10 LED bulb that is dimmable. Overall, the fixture looks nice and the "barn doors" are practical for controlling the limits of where light will be cast. This is useful in a home theater to keep the light off the screen. I'd recommend these lights if you have a track.

Great buy!!
Super satisfied overall! Just bought a home and the lighting throughout was terrible and dated. We are in the process of converting a room into a music studio (still coming along) and felt that these fixtures would be perfect to add to the “stage/studio” look. That said, this was my first time installing track lighting and in hindsight it was super easy, but I would have liked to see some instructions with the product. I had to research beforehand to ensure I was installing correctly. Additionally, although each fixture comes with a bulb, one of the bulbs was dead on arrival. Not a huge deal but now I have to find a replacement that puts out the same color temperature as the others. The bulb I replaced it with is very “yellow” and doesn’t match the others. Neither of these two issues were a deal breaker though. Overall an awesome purchase! I’m super satisfied and I will be ordering more product!

Ultra adjustable, good build quality
Lights are surprisingly good quality (especially at this price), solid build, slid right into my existing track in seconds with zero issues. They are individually adjustable to cover pretty much any area of the room you want to light. I installed 4 of them on a single track in my studio to provide focused light to separate work areas, and I couldn’t be happier with the result. The little barn doors work great and really allow you to focus light in specific areas. The bulbs also can slide forward or back into the fixture to provide a wider or narrower spread of the beam. In conjunction with the ability to tilt the fixture up and down, swivel it 360 degrees left or right, and dial in the pattern with the barn doors, you really can’t ask for a more adjustable spot. The included led bulbs are not terribly bright, but because I installed 4 the light level is sufficient. Plan to replace with Hue bulbs for even more flexibility. Super happy, love my new lights!

Decent fixture watch for quality control issues
I purchased 8 of these lamps for an installation in a 15x15 square foot room. The latch feels pretty cheap, and the bar through the middle was a tight fit into standard H track. Color temperature is good. Beam pattern is reasonably well defined, and the bulbs don't run too hot. No real complaints Build quality is alright I guess. Thin stamped sheet metal, cheap plastic-y adjustment screws, but they look fine and all the shudders stay in place. I expected a little better for the money, but everything's more expensive than it should be, so I suppose it's par for the course Unfortunately, of my 8 lamps, 1 of them decided to quit working after about 2 months, convenient! No light output, but then I got occasional arc flashes from within the canister. Nice fire hazard guys. I removed the lamp for an autopsy but could not find the fault. I suspect there may have been a manufacturing defect within the porcelain screw base. Not happy, but if the other 7 lamps continue to work reliably, I suppose they're alright. 3/5 UPDATE: Only a couple months after installation, a second lamp has gone out. I can forgive the mediocre build quality, but for almost 40 dollars per lamp, I at least expect them to work. Simply inexcusable. DO NOT BUY unless you are willing to rewire each lamp, which is what I am now going to do, costing me even more time and money to do so. 1/5
