Chapin 20010: Lawn and Garden Pump Pressured Sprayer, 1-Gallon, Translucent White

I got tired of making trips back and forth to the sink to water all the plants on my balcony and figured this would make a simple solution. The adjustable nozzle works great, from fine mist to a straight stream, and the extension comes in handy for my hanging plants. It has helpful measurements in raised type on the side, great for mixing fertilizer. Maintains pressure very well, for a long time, with just a few quick pumps. The 2 gallon capacity is just enough to last a week or so, and not be too heavy to lug around. All around, an effective, cost effective watering can for small patio garden. Highly recommend

This 2 gallon sprayer is SO great! Easy to use and effective, I was able to easily spray Neem oil on all of my shrubs and trees. I was able to save my boxwoods and roses from infestations that were so entrenched that I had almost given up on trying to save them! The first time I sprayed my shrubs, I had to keep mixing small batches and apply with an empty Spray 'n' Wash bottle. What a pain! Your arm gets really tired from all of the manual pumping. This sprayer is light weight, easy to use and clean, and works great! Someone who reviewed this before I purchased it recommended going over the markings in black sharpie so they are easier to read, which is absolutely necessary and a great idea!

I bought this item to apply a mixture of Wet & Forget. I had to decide if I wanted the one or two gallon sprayer. I went with the 2 gallon, as that left 1 gallon of air to apply pressure. The order arrived with a broken plastic measuring cup, which I have not yet called to replace, as I used an old measuring cup. With one gallon of air left after filling the mixture, I would pump it 100-120 times and that would generally last the full one gallon of mixture. Sometimes, I would have to add 60 pumps to finish the gallon mixture. One thing I learned is that it is important to make sure all connections are secure (hand tighten with gloves - do not use pliers as that could break the plastic connections). Another thing I learned is that after 60 pumps it became very obvious if there were any leaks. The most frequent place it leaked was at the top were you pump, so I would put on gloves and add 1/8 to 1/4 additional turn to stop the leak. A big negative is all the printed information on the white bottle is in white, so it is almost impossible to read (you will see in one of my attached pictures that I used a black marker pen to darken the filling levels (1/2 gallon, 1 gallon, 1-1/2 gallon, and 2 gallon). This takes the guess work out of how much is left and how full the mixture is. All in all, it worked fine to apply the gallon mixture and I cleaned out the tank with clean water afterwards, so it will not clog when I use it next time. From Seattle Feb 23, 2011

Best sprayer on market. Good value

Purchased this product to do some spraying of 20% vinegar for organic weed control. I used the sprayer for about 2 gallons worth, and the day after my hand was pretty cramped up from holding the trigger down for so long. Pros: not too expensive, got the job done. Not too heavy even when full. Easy to use. Cons: apparently there is some lead content in the tip, so the instructions say to wash your hands after use. Might not have purchased this brand if I knew that in advance. Also, the first time I opened the top after the container was empty and still under pressure it sprayed me in the face. Lesson learned. Be sure to not stand directly over the container when opening. Also, if you're going to be using the product frequently (more than a couple of times a year) I would recommend springing for the more expensive model that has the lock on the sprayer so you don't have to squeeze it the entire time.

I was paying a professional pest control company $300 per year to spray my house once per quarter for bugs. Like many others, I need to find ways to save money so I did a little research and learned that for the price of one of these gallon sprayers and some bug killing solution I can do my own pest control for about $20 per year! What a great savings and since I've been doing it myself, I find a lot less live bugs in my house and more dead ones. I think I do a more careful/thorough job... save money and better results! As for this sprayer, it is a neat compact little unit that is easy to carry around the house with a gallon of liquid in it. It has good pumping action and a few pumps will last quite a while before re-pumping. The spray nozzle is adjustable and can be set from stream spray to very wide mist spray. All in all a good unit, working great for 1.5 years now and helping me to save money.

Very effective. I sprayed an entire medium large back yard with weed killer and it worked very well. It didn't kill all the weeds but that is not the sprayer's fault. Easy clean up. I would share the wisdom that if you are working a large area a one gallon sprayer weighs less than a two gallon sprayer.

I have purchased several chapin sprayers over the years and always been pleased. This version was surprisingly less well built (ie, less sturdy). After simple assembly according to instructions, the sprayer worked fine for awhile and then the sprayer handle started falling off. I went back to the instructions and they showed a piece called the locking mechanism but said it was not on all models. This part was not on the handle I received and wasn't in the parts list. Fortunately this piece was on one of my older models so I put it on the new sprayer handle and the problem was solved. Called Chapin and they sent the part within a few days. Normally I would have written this off to an isolated packing problem but I also purchased the 2 gal version of the same sprayer with the same problem. If I wasn't familiar with the product design the sprayer would have been unuseable.

Used for spraying weeds. The direct stream nozzle not as useful as the spray nozzle.

used for weed killer, 1 gallon vinegar, 1 cup salt, two tablespoons dish soap. perfect.

Sprayer was shipped quickly, very sturdy. I have yet to use it yet, waiting for a still day to spray weed killer. But it is exactly as expected, will update if I have issues.
