They are polished to help you look that way too.
These combs (Kent Combs; R7T, FOT & 81T) are very nice! What I think makes them so nice is the way they are produced/manufactured and the quality control. They are not pressed into a mold so they do not have the "slag" that is squeezed out where two dies meet while pressing together to form an object. Lesser quality combs usually have that hair damaging trait. These combs are "saw cut", meaning a saw blade cuts into the plastic blank to form the combs "teeth". Kent does not stop there though. Each "tooth" is then "rounded" and polished to a smooth as glass texture on their sufaces. Lesser quality combs do not have this trait either. So, if you use a standard drug store comb in your hair or beard you can feel the resistance and even some snagging. This snagging and resistance is damaging hair at a microscopic level leading to frizzy appearance, broken, scarred and damaged hair shafts. Even a scratched scalp or face can occur if you press a lesser quality comb all the way through to the scalp or face. These combs will not do this to your hairs or skin. Because of their finer manufacturing they glide through the hair with absolute minimal resistance and are very unlikely to scrape the skin underneath. (If you press anything hard enough against skin it can do damage) I have not used the R7T or the 81T yet. All three combs are of the same quality though. They are just different sizes and have teeth that are spaced apart in a different manner. They are also used for different purposes to a certain degree. The R7T for thicker/longer beards and the 81T for mustaches. They will all work universally but they do have their intended purposes. I have used the FOT dozens of times to comb through my fine whiskered beard and to help evenly distribute beard oil/beard balm. I have never experienced the slightest of snags or abrasions. I have cleaner, shinier, healthier and a more attractive beard thanks in part to the Kent Comb FOT. In the future when necessary the R7T and 81T will play their part as well. Again, I have only needed the FOT to this date though. I very highly recommend this set or any of the Kent brand combs for anyones beard care routine or the occasional grooming throughout the day or evening.

Kent Combs take the Kent Cake
So, I thought what I was reading online was a bunch of BS about how the combs are better for hair and smooth and sanded and high quality. However, I gave them a chance even with the price tag that these have, being combs and all. I have to say, boy was I wrong! The first swipe through my beard I noticed that they glide through my hair smoothly. Normal cheap combs at wal-mart or the dollar store really are jagged (even if you can't see it) and damage your hair and hair shafts. These combs were worth the purchase, now to see if they stand the test of time. For reference my beard at the moment is 5 or 6 months old, putting it at about 1.5 - 2 inches give or take. If you are looking for a high quality comb, this is it. They work great for your head hair too, if you were wondering. The only possible "drawback" with these, is they are on the small side, but they get the job done with ease. The teeth are long enough to handle most beards as far as I can tell. The smallest comb is really for mustaches, it is about as long as about 2 paper clips, and has evenly spaced teeth. The middle one is a decent size for even large hands, and it has evenly spaced teeth. The large one has closer spacing on one end, and wider spacing on the other, and is big enough for any hand size. It looks like this company stands by their products, if I run into any problems, I will update my review. Thanks again Kent!

Almost as good as Horn combs- yet better value
These Kent combs provide the best compromise between feel and durability. They are very well made. I have used good quality horn combs in the past for my beard. Horn is the absolute best for beard care, however,it is extremely brittle. If you drop a comb made of horn it will likely break, losing a few teeth. They are like a fine bone china plate, extremely fragile. Once teeth go missing the comb will damage your beard. Combs made from plastic are not brittle, but they are cheaply made and have very tiny imperfections that will snag on your beard. These Kent combs are the best of both options. They feel almost like they are made from horn without the fear of shattering and losing teeth if dropped. Yes they cost considerably more than a plastic comb, but that is the wrong way to consider this purchase. Kent combs provide the almost perfect finished smoothness of a quality horn comb without the brittleness. You should also consider that you receive three different combs useful for their own purposes. One combo comb with wide and narrow teeth for that first grooming of the day. One smaller comb with narrow teeth to take with you to use during the day. And a tiny mustache comb. If you are convinced that you are never ever going to drop your comb, then get a horn comb. But if you do drop one it is almost certainly going to break of some teeth. Then it must be replaced. Horn cannot be beat for beard care. But these Kent combs are so close to the feel of horn that it is difficult to notice the difference and if you drop one it will not certainly break. This is not to say they will never break, just will not certainly break as would a horn comb.

Good Quality
I ordered this set due to growing out my beard and wanting a good beard and mustache comb. The small mustache comb is great for combing your mustache and trimming it. The size is not great for combining the beard as it says it’s for beard to. The other 2 combs are great quality as well but my only complaint is the “fine tooth” isn’t as fine as it needs to be in my opinion. If my beard was big and bushy they would do, however, I don’t have a big thick bushy beard so I find that I prefer my wooden beard comb that came with my beard balm to be my preferred comb over all. The teeth are finer and makes my beard look great. I don’t want to take anything away from the Kent combs. They are great combs and for the right beards I’m sure they are what’s needed. I do use one for my hair and I’m using the beard comb as a vehicle comb for when I need to straighten up on the go. I certainly feel the price for the set was well worth the money spent. Shipping was quick and accurate and I can honestly say I’ll buy again. Looking at another “bigger” Kent comb for my hair. The ones in this set are pocket size with the mustache comb being wallet size. Keep that in mind when ordering. Satisfied customer!

Excellent quality an upgrade
Exceptional quality and a very noticeable upgrade from the other combs I have used before. Great selection for hair, beard, and mustache. They look and feel really nice

Great combs. Good quality.
Great combs. Good quality. I keep one at my bathroom sink, and another at my desk for a quick reset before Teams video calls. The mustache comb seems comically small at first glance, but it does the job better than what you’ve been using.

Good quality but not that useful for me
These are good quality combs that are well-crafted and precision-cut. I bought the set of three (R7T fine and coarse toothed 5", FOT fine teeth 4.5", and 81T fine teeth, extra small 2.8") to groom my beard with the intent of using the R7T at home, the FOT as a daily carry for occasional touch-ups, and the 81T for my mustache. I have been using them for 3 months as of this review. The smaller mustache comb was completely useless for me. After growing my mustache out for a few months I decided to keep it trimmed down more, so it doesn't really require styling any more, but even when it was longer the comb didn't do much. Someone with a larger/bushier mustache may disagree and find it more practical. The larger combs do an acceptable job of separating the hairs when combing out my beard after showering and glide through it smoothly, which attests to their quality, but I don't find them very useful at all for styling purposes. I have a gray beard and the hairs can be a bit wiry, even with using beard oil/balm, and the combs don't do anything as far as helping to shape my beard...I find a boar's hair brush much more useful for that. I haven't tried a wooden comb yet and wonder if that would work any better compared to these. Overall I'm a bit disappointed as, based on my research prior to purchasing, Kent showed up on just about every "Best of" list as the gold standard for beard combs. This is just my experience and may be more due to my beard type than the combs, but I have not found them that useful and probably could have saved a little money and gotten by with just purchasing one comb.
