Easy to use!
I’ve used several colored pencil brands, and Staedtler Color Pencils stand out for their quality. The colors are bright, highly pigmented, and layer beautifully, making them perfect for coloring books, artwork, or school projects. What I love: • Vivid, consistent colors: Each shade shows up clearly, even on darker paper. • Smooth application: The leads glide effortlessly without scratching the paper. • Strong, break‑resistant core: Sharpen well and don’t snap easily, even with pressure. • Wide color range: Comes with all the shades you need for blending and shading. • Comfortable design: Hexagonal shape makes them easy to grip for long sessions. They’re great for both beginners and serious artists. Plus, the tin box they come in keeps everything organized and protected. Overall: The Staedtler Color Pencils deliver professional quality at a fair price. Highly recommend for anyone who loves drawing or coloring!

Kid's Pencils, but Good Kid's Pencils.
These are basically a good quality scholastic or kid's level colored pencil. You can tell from the price that they are not really "premium." The feel heavy and solid in the hand, they sharpen well and I haven't broken a point in the sharpener yet. They are durable. Don't presume that because they are from Staedtler, they are "professional quality." The pencil lead is waxy and soft, not hard like an artist's colored pencil. They lay down color pretty well, and layer okay, but they aren't the best for blending. If you just want to lay down a single color, you can get a pretty rich tone by covering the same area with several layers, but gradations and painterly techniques are not well suited to these pencils. I find them similar to Crayola colored pencils. Crayola is, in my opinion, more vibrant, but Staedtler Noris are built better and more durable.

excellent colour pencils
I love the colour pencils. They run smooth on the paper without any grits or scratching. Sometimes, the color of the lead looks different from the pencil (the stripe outside), but the color on the pencils look more true to what you draw. I like the feel of pencils when I grip. It's different from yellow school pencils which are shiny. These Staedler color pencils feels more friction to hold. They aren't rough or anything. The lead isn't too soft. The second picture (24 colors drawn on a grid paper) and the third picture showing their tips correspond so that you can see which pencil make which color. You can see I have colored softly and boldly with each color. When I did boldly, I pressed the pencils quite hard but it didn't break the lead at all. I wish they have number if not color names printed on each pencil so that I can remember which color I have used. 5 stars.

Ultra tough lead. Great for kids, not for adults.
I am using these as an adult for coloring and paid about $8 USD for this set of 24 Staedtler colored pencils. You can ignore most of my upcoming points if this is for a child to use. I am not a fan of these colored pencils. Their finish is good, the wood material is solid, and they have very high break resistance. However, the most important part of the pencil, the lead, is extremely lacking when it comes to performance and comfort of use. For reference, I will be using a cheap 24 set of Crayola [owned by Hallmark] colored pencils manufactured in Brazil that you would find in any general store (I snagged a box at the local wally world) for about $3.50 USD in the United States in July of 2024 for comparison. The build quality of the Crayola is far inferior. The wood is brittle, the lead is not glued the entire length, and many of the pencils are not even perfectly straight with some of them being slightly bowed. However, the actual lead is superior. The Staedtler pencils, though very break resistant, seems to be glued the entire length to resist shattering, and are all perfectly straight, just are not nice to use. Comparatively, the Crayolas seem to be slightly more pigmented (the colors are stronger), and very importantly, a decent amount more soft. The leads in the Staedtler pencils are very hard and tough (likely due to their formulation offering extra break resistance), so it takes an unbelievable amount of force to get good vibrant and opaque color from them. The Staedtlers do put their material down more consistently compared to the cheap Crayolas however, but the laydown is lighter, requiring more layers or much harder pressure to get the same shade of any color. For adult casual coloring use, avoid these. Your fingers will thank you. Go look for other colored pencils that have soft leads. I recommend considering slightly higher end options around $15-20 for a pack of 24, the extra premium options are usually $2 or more each pencil as of July 2024, those have super concentrated pigments and soft leads, so the colors are extremely vibrant and consistent. For kids, these are pretty good. It will survive more abuse compared to most other budget-friendly-leaning options with less lead breakage. Plus, its generally better quality in every other metric that would be relevant to a child.

What A Deal!
I bought this set of colored pencils as well as a couple of other name brands for sketching. I was amazed at the quality for the price. These hex shaped 'barrel' pencils are weighty and smooth on the paper. The core isn't as soft as the brand I bought starting with the letter "P" but they are superior. The color payout is rich and the laydown on the standard sketch paper was smooth. I can't believe with the reputation of the "P" brand that these pencils are hands down better. I'm so pleased with these and the smokin deal I got.

My girls use these for school when they grew out of crayola. If they can pass for the tweens, they can pass for anyone. Nice colours, get a good number of pencils with a variety of colours.
