Smaller then I expected given how big the character is usually portrayed in media but I'm satisfied

Cool figure, but is a little small and lacks accessories.
As a 40-something man-child who is a huge fan of the original Generation 1 Transformers toys, comics, and animation, I am naturally a massive fan of the Dinobots, who were pretty much every 80's kids favourite Transformers sub-group, so I couldn't resist the opportunity to get my hands on them again! Dinobot Sludge looks every part the faithful recreation of his Generation 1 toy, cartoon, and comic book self, and comes with a fantastic range of movement and poseability, transforms in just eleven steps (I swear this used to be easier when I was a kid. Now it feels like you need a degree in engineering to Transform one!) into a cool looking Brontasaurus mode. Unfortunately - just like the rest of the Dinobots in this range (apart from Grimlock) he is a little small, and (like all of the dinobots in the range) is frustratingly still missing some of the weapons associated with them, namely the iconic energon sword that all of them wielded. He also comes with 'Prime Armour' - but in reality this is just a component that allows the Dinobot team to be assembled into a combined gestalt form. Overall though these are fairly small complaints, and Sludge is still quite an impressive and fun figure to have.

Sludge is a great Dinobot toy. After owning the original G1 version many moons ago, this version of Sludge is pretty close to the original. The neck+head swivel is a nice new feature. The legs appear to be much sturdier. If anything pops off, a gentle push or tug can place any arms or legs back on with no hard done. The only tricky thing for our six year old was the leg transformation, which needs to be centered and balanced so that the rear end of the sauropod folds back onto the torso and stays there without the legs separating and drawing apart the two tail halves. A bit of practice and Sludge transforms effortlessly now. I personally appreciate the character card included in the package, which meant I didn't have to go cutting out some cardboard section of the box. Came with the Dinobot, the armor that will play a role in forming the combiner robot, and a weapon. All in all, we're very pleased with the toy.
