I am shocked with this product. I've been trying to go more natural with a few things and my skin was one of them. I used to have a 10 step skin care routine but after this I won't go back! I've always had clear skin and only really got hormonal acne sometimes, but my skin texture was bumpy. I hated the feeling but didn't know how to get rid of it. I started using this and it helped so much! The ultimate duo was when I cut everything out of my routine and ONLY used cerave renewing SA cleanser with salicylic acid for rough bumpy skin and this beef tallow. After this, all my bumps COMPLETELY went away and my skin is as soft as a baby's butt. I applied it whenever I got out of the shower, so mostly at night, and the next morning my face was still moisturized. I got the lavender scent and that's all I smell, I don't smell any sort of beef smell at all. I will say, the texture is kind of grainy and crumbly but as soon as your body heat starts to warm it up, as you're rubbing it in it melts into your skin and is super smooth. I like this better than the whipped tallow because this lasts longer. I got this in March, it's now July and I'm not even halfway through the jar! I've started to use this on the rest of my body as well and even got my mom to start it too! Anyway, if you're not sure if you should get it, DO IT!Update 06/20/25:Buying my third bottle! Decided to go up from a 2 oz which already lasted forever to a 4 oz because now my boyfriend is hooked on it too! My man has NEVER been a skincare man but he loves this stuff lol! He puts it on after the shower and he says he likes how it makes his beard feel. He thinks his beard is softer and shinier which I can agree to. As stated before, my mom also uses it, I asked her for an update on it and if she actually kept up with it and she is! She said “omg I use it everyday I love this stuff!” She got the orange scent and likes it a lot. My mom is super sensitive to smells but she says it’s not strong enough to bug her or give her a headache, just a nice hint of orange and no beef smell. I noticed as I’ve been keeping my house warmer/summertime, the grainy texture is not there, I was keeping my tallow too cold! Hope this update helped!

Prairie Fire Tallow is my fifth Beef Tallow Balm brand I'm trying out. What I want is Organic Grass fed/Grass finished, in a glass container (not plastic) and natural essential oil as fragrance. This product is mixed with olive oil which I did not realize until I received it but it claims to be organic first pressed virgin olive oil.I really like how it soften the skin and slowly get absorbed into the skin.Another brand I bought were like this product as well, solid in the jar and you had to rub it to "melt" it into the skin and I loved it, it was fantastic on my dry skin but the next order of that same product was whipped and the vanilla scent was overwhelming (I do like vanilla but it was too strong, I guess they tried to camouflage the "beef smell")The whipped/fluffy Tallow Balms I have tried does not soften my skin in the same way, it won't get fully absorbed and it leaves a slight film that feels like having a layer of silicone on your skinNot sure if the whipping change the nature of the beef tallow or if it's added ingredients or a combination...PLEASE KEEP MAKING PRAIRIE FIRE TALLOW THE SAME WAY YOU DO NOW, I LOVE IT JUST AS IT IS, IT IS FANTASTIC!!I chose the lemon and it has a light fresh scent! I will order other other scents as well :)

I am very impressed with this product & the shipping. The seller really made it a nice well packed box for it being in a glass jar. It arrived sooner than expected. Inside the box he had instructions on use, a free sample of the soap they make. It even had a shrink-wrap easy to remove band around the lid. The Beef tallow balm, unscented has a pleasant smell & went on really nice. Organic, hand made, non-whipped and after applying the solid balm it dried fast and was non greasy. They say to use a pea size amount & it was more than enough to cover the entire face. I highly recommend this balm for it's great cost, $25 for 4 oz & $35 for 8 oz. A+

I’ve struggled with finding an affordable tallow for my daughter’s skin, so many tallow balms are very pricey and contain mixtures with honey and other scents that irritate my baby’s skin (she has eczema). With this simple tallow, my daughter’s skin is softer than ever and I can now moisturize her without a fight. Thank you for a great product, and making my daughter a happy baby girl!

The product helps produce a glow to the face, slightly oily, very good for dry/older skin types

I purchased this as I have been using tallow for a few years and wanted a large (and affordable) product that I could use daily and especially on my legs. I love the scent, it’s extremely moisturizing, and even in the winter when I get super dry, this really does the job and does it well. As with any tallow product it has a granulated feel at first but as soon as you rub your hands together and warm it up it’s soft and easy to apply. Slightly oily at first but it’s very lightweight and absorbs into your skin really nicely after a few minutes. I want to try the other scents, the frankincense is awesome and smells nice with my daily perfume. I use twice a day in the winter and I feel like my skin is soft and glowing, looks moisturized, and the jar is sturdy so I love that I can reuse the jar when I’m done!
