It works just as described. I really like the shortened, bent probe. My old one had a VERY long, straight probe, and it was truly a hassle figuring out where to place the meat without the probe sticking out of the pan where it’s not supposed to be, in the way of other food, etc.

This is a great thermometer, it does what it claims and when put up against a non-digital thermometer it reads the exact same temperature. The magnetic base makes it easy to attach it near the oven door to reduce cord kinking.
