After reading endless reviews and comparing DOZENS of listings for Weighted Plush Animals, I decided on this adorable soft huggable puppy with it's sweet face and floppy ears. It's for my 31 year old married daughter who loves stuffed animals, and is a huge hugger - of people and animals. I debated between the Black and White version or the Brown one. Both looked sweet and huggable, but I went with the later, as it would stay looking cleaner longer. I read many reviews regarding quality of stitching and consistency in the stuffing, and this brand seemed to be the most favorable. I also liked that the paws AND belly are weighted (not just the belly) for a better hug. I decided to go with the largest size - 28 inches long and 14 inches wide - since this is for an adult. I placed my order yesterday and the hefty box showed up this morning! Although the box was in perfect condition, it was obviously bursting at the seems, like the puppy was trying to escape. This was purchased as a Christmas gift, and with Thanksgiving still next week, I just couldn't imagine keeping this precious baby in a box for another 5 weeks. I ended up visiting my daughter tonight and giving her this gift early. She truly loved it and held it all night. It is REALLY soft, well made and very huggable. We watched a movie and the only time it left her lap was when she laid down and used him as a pillow.

My father in law has Alzheimer's dementia and they recommended getting a weighted animal for him to sleep with. Apparently it's comforting to them and he sleeps with it all the time. Highly recommend to anyone with a family member that has somewhere with Alzheimer's dementia. It's super soft and just the right weight

Found a hole where the leg meets the body by the dark spot. Found it within a couple of hours. Likely already there since the plush is very understuffed. edit: I'm bumping this review from a 2 to a 3 because while there was a hole in the plush, due to the inconsistency of the other reviews, I didn't want to return it and risk getting a worse one upon exchange... I just sewed up the hole, but now after several months, I've been noticing that this dog was likely designed with some very specific features that make it very "lifelike" not in appearance but in it's motion when handled and how it lays down on surfaces. A couple of my favourite examples that I noticed: the back of the dog's neck / upper back has a stiffer, reinforced seam that's also "shorter" than you expect. I only noticed this because the dog was "nodding" a lot like a real dog, and then after I noticed that I didn't even have to move it a lot, and realized there was a point where I could squeeze for that to happen. Another detail is the dog's tail is stubby, but the tail is filled only about maybe 3/4 of the way and the section closest to the butt is flat and empty... I thought this was a bad thing until one day as I was handling it... I noticed that it was wagging very realistically like a dog. the tail had slipped between my fingers and the "unstuffed" portion allowed the tail to flop freely while the weight of the stuff portion acts like a pendulum, and with subtle movements of my fingers or hte tail hitting objects, it wags very realistically. At first I thought these were just coincidences, but I keep noticing more and more like this. So much that I feel that these must have been intentional design decisions... If the dog didn't arrive with a hole in it, I would likely have given this 5 stars. Unfortunately, I only purchased one of this dog, and I have to base it on what I received. -- If they have good QC, and mine was just a one-off exception, this is absolutely a great and adorable plush!
