Japanese Coloring Book

Definitely keeps you busy, very time consuming and perfect to buy for a perfectionist. Or to even test your abilities to have a steady hand

Really like Japanese themes.

Very happy overall with this delightful coloring book. Good paper, and very nicely drawn illustrations on one side only of each page. The cover illustration is the very first one you can color in the book. I've found that many coloring books do NOT include the cover illustration in their coloring books for some reason and that disappoints many colorists. Japanese art is typically delicate and feminine in nature and that is attractive to many colorists. This book is a nice example of that. My only complaint of this particular book's selections is that there is an awful lot of repeat of certain subjects such as Koi fish for example, or pretty ladies in traditional Japanese kimonos. There are some gorgeous scenes of pagodas in beautiful settings that are really fun to color, so overall I am quite happy with this inexpensive, well illustrated Japanese themed coloring book.

This was one of the best coloring books I have seen so far, the detail was great (I can't think of a better word if I could I'd use it!) I put a some papers on between pages, not necessary I sometimes press down harder than necessary I wouldn't recommend it for a beginner, I have been coloring for about 8 months & I had to take my time. I enjoyed this particular book so much I had to put it aside because I found myself coloring only in this one for 3,4 & 5 hours at a time. Highly Recommend!!!!

I love all the designs in the book. This is quite a statement coming from me, because usually I like only 50% or fewer of the designs in any particular book. These designs are elegant, not cutesy, which I can't stand. I am using gel pens and they do not bleed through the page. At the end of the book they give you sample pages from the other coloring books they sell, and they look appealing too, especially the cat coloring book.

At first I was just going to recycle it. The drawings are all over the map, from fairly nicely done to cartoon-ish. The paper takes colored pencils well, and since I didn't care about keeping the book, I felt freer to just mess about with it. Stress-relieving in an "I don't care how this turns out" way. Some of the pictures (flowers in them) are nice. The ladies depicted sometimes feel more Western than Japanese, and that felt a bit uncomfortable. Actually, another reviewer mentioned that the cultures depicted are not all Japanese and I agree -- at least one drawing is Korean in nature.

I have a friend recovering in the hospital from brain surgery. She's had to go through rehab and the therapists suggested coloring books to get her writing back to what it was. I'm happy to report that the therapists obviously know what they're talking about. Her signature went from a scribble back to a perfect signature.

This is SO FUN!! I love the designs, I love that they're not too complex, it's fun and de-stressing to color, and overall it's just a really great buy.
