So far so good. The drive is a little loud but not annoying. I bought two of these babies in a Synology 223j NAS device. My use is primarily for backups and Media sharing. Serving my purposes nicely.

The unit is exactly as expected. I had to set the partition table myself which is normal. Anyone claiming DOA doesn't know how to handle a new drive because different OS use MBR based on there OS. (MBR = Master Boot Record) and (OS=Operating System). These drives are formatted based on the OS itself. User must know how to handle that before ordering.

I am extremely impressed with the performance of the MDD 18TB NAS hard drive. The 7200 RPM speed and 256MB cache make data access quick and efficient. The 5-year warranty gives me peace of mind, and choosing the renewed option was definitely worth it for the quality and savings.
