Unsure about longevity but a great quick and cheap fix
Installed this on an 04 E500 wagon with a failed pump. This installed easy and worked right away. Installed into a car that’s being sold so not super worried about it lasting like an OEM part. Plus it’s a 20 year old car so realistically how much life is expected out of it.I think every part for a Mercedes is horribly overpriced and makes the cars not worth keeping on the road. This pump seemed to be a good value to keep this wagon rolling a little longer

Looks to be excellent quality and works great. Easy fit.
Installed this unit on my 2003 E500 after the air suspension totally failed. Went down the LONG list of possible causes for the car that had gone into permanent pancake mode. Started by changing the pump solenoid, which made no difference. Checked all fuses. Checked the "Lift and sport-mode switches" on the console. All fine. Finally bought and installed the pump. Bench tested it before installation to make sure it ran and made pressure. No problem there. Got everything in place, started the car and no rise, even in "lift" mode. Car sat for some time eventually running out of battery power. Took battery out, charged it, reinstalled and decided to reinstall original solenoid. As soon as I hooked up the battery I heard the pump kick on. Don't know if the new solenoid was bad or if error codes were cleared when battery died. Bottom line: pump works great and unlike what others have said it sounds exactly like the original Wabco. NO LOUDER at all! Car can now sit any length of time in any setting with no sag. Perfect.

E500 rear only drop read review might help
My issue was the sudden drop of the back only air supports. I was sure that the air pump was the issue, as all four air struts had been replaced at the costs of many thousands of dollars at the dealer. Wasn’t sure I wanted to put much more into this 2005, but I still love it and wanted to give it a go at this price. The pump is very heavy and built like the original. Got the unit installed, put back together, and bam....the back didn’t move and no pump action just like before with the old one. Turns out, the second thing that my research said it could be, the rear level sensor, was the issue. It’s hard to even see and locate but it’s under there near the driver rear wheel attached to a wheel arm underneath the car-not easy to get to while it’s sunk low and not fun, but possible. The linkage on mine had come loose from the cracking aged rubber that holds it on to a small ball joint. I was able to push it on again for a quick fix, and that fixed it! From what I read the sensor rarely goes bad, it’s just the link that falls off. At least I’m good with the air pump for a while!

New compressor didn't work.
I finally got a day off to install the new air compressor in my 2003 S430. The install saw easy but the compressor didn't function.

Good parts
Product was just as stated and worked as it should, was great to see the car raise off the ground, now install… that’s on Mercedes’ you will need multiple hands to install this product. Have friends handy

buy OEM.
was great for about a month, I've had it installed for about 6 months, but only 3000 miles, and after the first month O noticed it working harder, getting louder and finally a rear end that won't lift without help. I mean, I guess you get what you pay for.

A great deal for the price...! It worked perfectly for 4 years...!
This compressor is VERY high quality indeed, (for 1/4 the price of an OEM Mercedes air compressor). It has worked perfectly for the past 4 years after I installed it in July 2019...!NOTE: I just replaced it with the same exact model, but the real problem was actually a leaking RF strut air connection that I had to epoxy in place (after the previous owner or his mechanic stripped the top air fitting). That fixed any air leaks in the airmatic system..!Problem 2 was a bad connection at the main air pump connector close to the pump, causing it to run intermittently.I replaced the pump anyway, (since I had a new spare still in the box), cut the factory wiring connector completely out and hardwired the compressor directly in to eliminate all bad/ intermittent electrical connections. Now it is working 100% and is super quiet with no leaks....!!This compressor is as good or better than the factory MB/ AMG/ BOSCH compressor.I highly recommend it, and I have been working on cars, airplanes, and trucks for 46 years...!
