Years ago, when I had a MacBook Pro with USB 3.0 ports, I got distracted one day and accidentally let my Mac go to sleep with a flash drive still plugged in, and I ended up getting the dreaded "Disk Not Ejected Properly" message. I'm always worried about data corruption, so I was very upset at the time. When I got a new MacBook with USB-C ports, I purchased this USB-C hub. One day, I got distracted by an incoming phone call, and ended up making the same mistake -- letting my Mac go to sleep with a flash drive plugged in the hub. But to my surprise, I did not get a "Disk Not Ejected Properly" message! Apparently this hub still sends sufficient power to the flash drive even when the Mac is in sleep mode! And yes, the "Put Hard Disks to Sleep When Possible" option was checked! This device is truly a lifesaver! I still recommend you properly eject your flash drives before putting your Mac to sleep, but on the off-chance you might forget, you won't have to worry! This gizmo is awesome! Thank you!

This adapter replaces a number of individual adaptors and is better built than most of the ones it replaces. The bag is a nice addition to keep the dust out when not in use. I use it on an LG Gram, running Windows 11, and it keeps a second USB C port free. Not sure I will ever use the HDMI port but it is nice to have.
