I don't think this smells quite as bad as other reviews say, but it's not really a good smell either. Some kind of musty funk going on with it but it's not so terrible I can't deal with it for an hour. That said, it does work extremely well for repairing and strengthening hair. I've been using it the last 2-3 weeks along with the Minimalist hair mask every wash day with excellent results after going overboard with bleach. My hair wasn't breaking off, but my natural curls were damaged enough to lose their curl and my overall hair was dry, frizzy, and tangled. Using this (and the treatment), my hair has regained a good amount of its curl but far more softness and shine than it had prior. It's immensely more manageable and I don't have the horrid frizz and static-y ends all the time now. I'm confident that the more I use it the more my curls will return.

It works amazing the smell is kind of weird though. I have tried all the hair oil. Argan oil, Biosilk, Garnier sleek and shine, verb ghost oil, copper avocado oil mix, K18 I know it’s not oil but I am going to throw it in. This is the best. My hair is very fine and colored damaged. I have hard well water and live in the high desert. I have curly hair but it’s textured so it gets so frizzy. This makes my hair feel so much better, soaks in nicely isn’t greasy. Smells worst the first time you put it on but after a while it gets better and then I kind of like it. I would say though the smell can be off putting for some that’s why 4 stars and not 5. Worth every penny though. I love the bottle and how heavy it is. Plus the price point is amazing. I would try it.

First off the smell seems to be a hang up for some. And let me just say, there is one, but it isn’t an added scent, if that makes sense. It smells like marjoram or maybe rue? And old books. There’s definitely an herbal smell and probably not one that people would use in their diffuser, but I find it rather pleasant. Reminds me of an old library in a room with an antique leather chair. But it’s also not so strong that I can smell it once I put it on and pull my hair back. Not your typical hair products smell, but 🤷‍♀️ Aside from that, let me just say - I have been bleaching my hair to dye it pink since 1996 and am always looking for products to help keep my hair healthy. This stuff really made my hair feel smooth and soft. I’d recommend!

Misleading description on listing .. it says fragrance free but the actual package in real Life when it arrives says it contains fragrance which I have sensitivity too/ am allergic too.. *some field with my hair since it snot my skin I can get away with something briefly if it washes out well.. but this is extremely disappointing.

This serum smells exactly like brass instrument oil. I realized it too late as I had already started to put it on my hair. Unfortunately, I blindly bought it and didn't read the reviews first. I left the serum on my hair for an hour and then washed it out. As for the effectiveness, I didn't really notice much of a difference in my hair. I personally think there are much better products (that don't smell quite as bad) that you can use to repair your damaged hair. I will not be purchasing again.

Smells like moth balls but it works

So I’m a blonde by bottle & completely killed my hair this past summer while leaving the bleach on too long this time! Now my hair was a bit dry to begin with but I had ordered countless products!!! Omg the $$$ I’ve spent is insane!! Now I come across THIS MINIMALIST HAIR SERUM & OMG 😱 I wish I had ordered long ago-I’ve used twice now and it’s helping my hair sooooo much! It’s softer, little to no frizzies and manageable! Was so sick of tossing it into a clip or pony! I will be buying again absolutely! Idc about the scent tbh-it reminds me of really hot Chocolate at first, then reminds me of old books lol but fades so ya it’s not this nasty scent ppl are going on about! it’s a great product & I’m buying their conditioner treatment as well. Wish they made a shampoos but I guess we can’t have it all eh?!? If so maybe I’d give 5stars!

رائع ورخيص ومفعوله احسن من K18 النفشه مو بس تخف الا تختفي وما يخرب الشعر او يجففه بالعكس تحسيه صحي. المفروض ينحط على شعر ناشف يترك ساعه ويغسل بالشامبو وهذا عيبه الوحيد ان استخدامه فيه هالسالفه بس صراحه الكميه راهيه والسعر حلو والنتيجه اكثر من ممتازه واغناني عن K18

Wow — my hair hasn’t felt this strong/good in years. It actually does what it claims, which feels like a miracle these days. Pro tip: condition after shampooing, even though the directions don’t say to — my hair definitely needed it.

It is a really good serum, works well as it improved the texture of my hair. The smell is bit weird but I reckon its due to the formula. Great value for money.

Been using the Minimalist Bond Repair Complex for a while now, and I gotta say—my hair is loving it! It’s super lightweight, doesn’t make my hair greasy, and actually feels like it’s doing something. My hair feels smoother, less frizzy, and way stronger than before. Definitely takes time to show results, but patience pays off. If your hair’s been through heat styling or coloring, this is worth trying!

I have used this 5 times so far. From first use itself, my hair became healthier, fuller, softer, less hairfall. It has also saved me from the hassel of oiling my hair which while good for hair health, used to result in a lot of hairfall during washes. I can't believe how quickly my hair is getting healthier and stronger. It does smell bad, but it means that it at least doesn't have toxic fragrance. I will continue to use this. Thank you minimalist and Amazon! P.S. This is to be applied only to your hair length, not roots, keep for an hour and then to be washed off.
