Purchased this as I needed extra storage in my PS5 now that most games are barely on the disc and still need to be installed directly to the drive. The process to install was very straightforward and the heatsink has good clearing inside the PS5. The formatting was easy to follow as well once you boot up the console. Performance was way better than expected, even been faster than the internal SSD, games booting up almost instantly Overall very impressed with this SSD. Crucial is a budget brand, but they always deliver, I even have one of their old gen SSD installed in my desktop and it’s still going strong 7 years later.

PS5 PICKS UP READ SPEED OF ABOUT 5600-5800. if you want this SSD to clock Higher speeds in your PS5 you need to update the firmware through crucial, so if you dont have a modern PC to connect it to and wanted fatser than 5800/6000. Get a different drive. As for playing the games..... Well its still faster than the internal ps5 ssd..... So.......it's s good enough for me and anyone..... Anyone who wants faster....what to save a few seconds moving/installing a game? It wont load much faster, and certainly won't play the game faster. So. Basically this is the best value 2TB SSD you can get for your PS5.... Anything else is over kill.

I have bought multiple M-Dot two drives over the last few years and my experience has been very mixed. I’ve had to return several as they either didn’t work or didn’t work as they should have. The experience with this project however, has been very good. It was easy to install and works as advertised. It was easy to set up and benchmark test. Show this to be a very fast product, I have had it now for several weeks and have had no issues. I bought this at a time where pricing was very reasonable and for the price, this is a very good product. If this is the first time you’re buying this product, make sure you read up on how to install it properly and enable it within Windows if you’re using on a PC.

Worth the money, not like cheaper 2tb variants, this has higher read write speeds. Working as expected. Do research before buying, such as chip used in SSDs. In this variant chip is there, so it works better than chipless cheaper variants.
