I was genuinely impressed by this matcha. For the price, the quality is exceptional. The first thing I noticed was the vibrant, rich green color (a clear sign of good quality), especially compared to other budget-friendly options that often look dull or yellowish. The taste did not disappoint. It’s smooth and flavorful, without the bitter or grassy notes you sometimes find in lower-grade matcha. It stands up beautifully on its own, but it’s also incredibly versatile. I made a matcha latte sweetened with a touch of strawberry jam. The matcha’s earthy sweetness paired perfectly with the fruity jam, making what might be the best latte I’ve ever had. If you’re looking for a high-quality, affordable matcha that’s perfect for both traditional preparation and creative recipes, I highly recommend giving this one a try. It’s an absolute steal!

Truly impressed by the quality of this matcha! The color was a nice shade of green and for the price, you can’t beat this! The flavor was really good and creamy, comparable to the more expensive matchas I’ve tried in the past! Gonna be my new go to when I run out of the matchas I currently have open rn! 10/10!

Having tasted quite a few matcha brands, FKRO matcha still managed to surprise me with its creamy and full-bodied umami flavor. This one actually gets me excited to get up in the morning and have it. I’m so glad to have finally found my morning coffee replacement! I love this matcha with just water alone but would occasionally switch it up by mixing it with plant-based coconut or oat milk, which I find to pair well with matcha as compared to dairy milk. WHAT IS FKRO LIKE? The matcha powder comes in an aluminum pouch inside of the tin. My journey as soon as I opened the pouch and was greeted with the fresh aromatic sweet vegetal scent. I'm sure you'd agree that a good smell influences the taste of any food. I was gentle with transferring the matcha into my cup as I don’t want my matcha powder to fly around my kitchen. The matcha is a very pure vibrant green. HOW I PREPARED MY “TRADITIONAL” CEREMONIAL MATCHA: -I heated water to about 170 degrees -I added ½ tsp of matcha to my cup (I was lazy to sift) -I poured about 4 oz of water over the top of the matcha -I used a handheld milk frother to mix until frothy with no clumps (not quite the traditional bamboo whisk method but higher tech version) I’d adjust the amount of water used depending on my preference for the strength of the tea I’m feeling that day. Sometimes more, sometimes less. The matcha foams up well, mixed with water with ease and no clumps. TASTE: The thick foam on the surface is very satisfying to drink. The aroma and flavor are very complex – natural umami sweetness with slight astringency towards the end, but well-balanced by the creamy, thick and rich mouthfeel. The perfect balance of strength and smoothness. HOW DOES THIS TEA AFFECT ME? I always had a love-hate relationship with caffeine, especially with coffee. It made me tense, drained and out of touch with my body, but I couldn’t function without it. I don’t experience these side effects with this matcha tea. I do feel that I have better sustained energy levels and am able to focus for a longer period of time without ‘crashing’. Now I see why everyone talks about L-theanine. Overall, I am more productive (as seen with my lengthy review!!) and calm after my daily cup of FKRO matcha. SUMMARY: I thought matcha is just a fad powered by Instagram. Now, I understand why people go crazy over it. This matcha tea is in its own league. I have finally found my new daily morning boost. The color is a lush vibrant green, just like fresh vegetable produce. The aroma and flavor are very complex – natural sweetness with slight astringency towards the end, but well-balanced by the creamy, thick and rich mouthfeel. I must say that the focus and zenergy I get from this tea is great and I will be subscribing to this. You won’t be disappointed.
