Good Quality
I was impressed by the ease of use of the scale. It is sturdy and seems to be made well. The digital screen is easy to read. I really like the pull out screen when using an oversized plate or bowl. I love the zero out function of the scale which allows you to weigh an ingredient in any type of container. I also like that the tray is removable for cleaning.

Love the scale
Very simple to use. Variable weight units available. The pullout display is very handy as it allows using large bowls. Good quality, construction, and easy to clean.

Accurate scale, easy to use, awesome display!
It’s stainless steel. I wish it could be a different color. So McDonald’s. I prefer bright, cheery, happy stuff. But my options were black and stainless, so okay, fine, stainless it is. It’s a really good scale. I tested it for accuracy with weights. I got the one that holds extra weight because I want to put heavy bowls on it sometimes and fill them with flour or meat. I love that it can handle that. It is simple to use and easily toggles between metric and regular weights. It holds the weight on the screen nicely so you get time to write it down if you need to do that. It’s so easy to use that I tossed the explanation. I don’t have to re-read it. But the BEST part is the little pull-out display thingie. I LOVE THAT THING. No contortions required to check the weight. No button to lock. No nothing. I can just SEE the flippin thing. Alleluia. Oxo is generally reliable but they really knocked it out of the park here. (Would it kill them to offer one that is a less depressing color?)

Great product - has all the features you need
Great product- makes it easy to weigh ingredients. Easily switch from ounces to grams, zero out measurements easily in between. The display pulls out so you can see it if you have a wide plate, etc on the scale. Display lights up. Sturdy. Good buy

A must-have for any home cook
This scale is fantastic for what it's intended to do: weigh things. Super visible display, batteries are replaceable and cheap, and you get tenths of an ounce which is plenty accurate for cooks of all skill levels. You do have to remember to turn it off, but this also means it only shuts off when you want it to, not while you're weighing out ingredients and you realize you need to go find the coconut oil that's in the back of the pantry. "But reviewer, I hardly ever bake! What am I going to use this thing for?" Even if you're not baking, if your recipe uses weight measurements, this will make your resulting dishes more consistent and much easier to control. If all your liquid measuring cups are occupied or dirty, you can measure water using the rhyme, "A pint's a pound the world around." It's not accurate everywhere, water can change density depending on factors like temperature and air pressure, but it's close enough for most tasks. If you're a barista or aspiring barista and you're trying to nail down a coffee recipe, you're going to need the mass of the beans and the water that goes in the brewing device. You'll have to use an app or a stopwatch to get the steep time. If you bought a big pile of bulk food (e.g. meat) from one of those big box stores, you can use this to portion it out in one-serving sizes, so whenever you need to cook, you pull one out from the freezer and you don't have to think about how much to use. For 30 minutes to an hour's work on the weekend, you save a bunch of money over any store-bought equivalent and you get the same convenience.

High-quality fast scale
I purchased this scale to replace a Cuisinart food scale that failed and would no longer turn on. The pull-out display is the major feature differentiator that sets this scale apart and solves a problem I had with my last scale -- not being able to read the display due to a large bowl. The display is held in-place by two small magnets, and pulls in and out easily though I would like if the magnets were slightly stronger. A cable keeps the display connected to the scale unit and the display moves around freely while tethered by this cable. The scale does a "3-2-1" countdown when you first power it on, but once it's ready this scale is much faster than my previous scale. Gram measurements are updated near-instantaneously, whereas a delay with my old scale had me pause for a second before adding ingredients. Now I can stream water into a bowl and see the numbers tick up in realtime. I didn't expect this, and it's a nice upgrade. The top plate is removable, but it feels wrong, like you shouldn't be pulling so hard and you're going to break a clip or cause bending of the level platform. It can be surface washed in this way. I liked that my old Cuisinart had a removable metal cover plate, and THAT could be removed, dishwashed, etc. In ths case of this OXO, the entire scale bed is removed. The whole scale is also larger than my previous, which could be bad (it takes up more space in my drawer) but sometimes is good (the platform is large enough to handle larger amounts or meat, dough, etc without needing a separate plate). In summary, this scale is expensive for what it is, but the features I mention make it feel like it's enough of a quality of life improvement that anyone who uses a food scale for a lot of their cooking, this is worth the splurge.

Great kitchen scale
Finally bought a kitchen scale and I absolutely love it. It is so easy to use. The display panel pulls out so you can read it even with very large bowls. You are able to add ingredients because the scale adjusts. Wish I had gotten it years ago. Old habits sometimes die hard.

This scale does all the things a good scale should do. It is very easy to read - I have vision problems and I can see the numbers well. It switches to grams, kilos , ounces and pounds. The scale remains on for a good amount of time so when I have to find more of an ingredient, the scale doesn’t turn itself off so I lose the weight information. Last, I use large bowls sometimes so being able to pull out the display is extremely helpful! I highly recommend this product. OXO continues to impress.
