Q: Does the metal of this sharpener contain lead (as some other metal sharpeners from Germany do)?

I highly doubt that the casing is made from lead. It looks like aluminum; blade is stainless steel.BTW, we have extremely strict quality and environmental standards and controls in Germany; far stricter than here.

Q: is this a single sharpener or 3-pack?

The single sharpener I bought (not the 2- or 3-pack) came with 2 spare blades attached to the side.

Q: Does this work for 2 mm pencil leads, or for standard sized graphite pencils with wood?

I use it for my Verithins,Marco Refines,and Polychromos colored pencils and it works very well. Hope this was of some help

Q: how long does one blade lasts? i would only use once or twice a week.

I have sharpened at least 160 new pencils and resharpened over 60 more with this sharpener. No trouble yet with the first blade.
