I was so happy with the first bottle I got through a work event, that I went ahead and purchased one for my wife as well.This is a brilliant application of tech to promote and maintain one of the most important habits we should develop and maintain - drinking enough water!I’ve tried holding myself accountable in many ways in the past, including buying a huge bottle that I could drink throughout the day and know it would represent my quota. None of the methods succeeded, until I’ve started using water.io’s bottle.It’s a perfect standard size that’s easy to carry around in any bottle holder (in your bag, in the car, etc.), the battery lasts for several days so charging isn’t an issue and the bottle’s reminders + app integration keep me on track like nothing before did.The app itself is very well executed and simple to use. It’s easy to set your goal and see your progress, as well as add any liquids that don’t go in the bottle (coffee, beer, smoothies, external water, etc.) to your daily intake (in case of coffee and alcohol, the app will add they hydration but also inform you that it’s a dehydrating drink and will adjust your goal accordingly).Finally, the app syncs with the health core apps (mine is an iPhone) and both reports on your daily hydration, as well as intakes exercises and activities to up your daily goal if necessary.Bottom line, it’s a high quality, well done product with just the right amount of tech that feels almost invisible by integrating seamlessly into your life.

I've never written a bad review of an item before and I've reviewed hundreds of items over the past 15 years. This water bottle is supposed to remind you to hydrate. For that to happen, you have to install an app then create an account then pair it with the bottle. I installed the app. I tried to create an account. It said "An error occurred, try again later". So I decided to use my Google account instead. Next, I spent 40 minutes trying to pair it with the bottle. The bottle was fully charged. The app asked my age and height. It told me I needed 46oz of water per day. That's not nearly enough. There's no way to change the goal. The bottle is supposed to remind you to drink. That never happened.In many cases, problems with technology involve user error. I teach computer science in college. I'm a nerd. This is a very poorly designed product that isn't worth the money and I wouldn't wish the experience I just had on my worst enemy. Do yourself a favor and skip this one!
