I really haven’t had a chance to use this bait caster, but I bought the first GEN before and I loved it. I had it for a very, very long time. It finally gave out on me. The second generation bait caster is sleek love to feel most people will complain about the thumb handle, but I love it size perfect for my fingers. I’m still giving that five star even though the thumb bar is a little tight when coming to press it down to release your line. I’m thinking overtime. Maybe it’ll loosen in a little bit. Given the fact that this is brand new. You can never complain for the price and quality that piscifun provides for the cost. Don’t mind the ice rod. I only used it to spool the bait caster. Up date!! I’ve received my two piece rod for travel. I was hoping to make a separate review but Amazon has my order as one. I have always trusted in piscifun for that inexpensive and great quality for those times you do not want to ruin or maybe damage you’re more expensive fishing gear while traveling. They have picked up their game and how they package my order. It did come in your typical Amazon box, but my fishing rod was packaged very well and I appreciate that. I even suggest using this company if you’re a beginner bass for Sherman or any finesse fisherman trying to learn bait casting. You can never go wrong using this company. They have variety of style styles of spinning reels and bait casters that fit your needs.

Excellent value for the money, and solid build quality.

I got this rod on April 16 2025 and it was very good I used it almost everyday and caught many fish but today May 13 2025 was the bay I got snagged on a tree and while getting it out the rod snapped while I do recommend this rod just be careful with it. This company is the greatest they saw my review and offered to send me a new one. This rod is great for casting light lures like a beetle spin I have this rod paired up with the Piscifun Torrent baitcaster reel and they both work like a dream.

Seems like a decent rod for the price. I bought the one piece Serpent 7’2” medium light rod a while back to use for throwing light weight jigs and Ned rigs. I wanted to buy a two piece Serpent spinning rod in medium weight to use for drop shopping and throwing jerk baits but they never seem to have any available. Thus, I opted to buy this rod instead. It will work for what I bought it for but the quality is not as good as the Serpent series spinning rods. Update: I fished with this rod this week and it’s junk. The upper section comes loose about every third cast and is so flimsy you can’t get a decent hook set. Save your money. When you only have so much time to fish spend your money on quality fishing tackle to make your day more satisfying.

The rod is very comfortable to use and feels durable

This is the single worst fishing rod I've ever touched. The "medium" action rod is flimsier than most ultra light setups. It offers ZERO sensitivity and is absolutely impossible to set a hook. I had 2 bites with the rod practically ripped out of my hand that would not set because the rod just bends straight into the water instead of popping up. My first one broke in half after trying to set a hook ONCE. I've literally never snapped a rod in my life, I have like 10 others and I fish daily. The second one didn't snap in half immediately but is (again) entirely impossible to catch fish on. I mean this is unusable garbage. Buy any other rod. I've seen 20 dollar rod and reel setups that DESTROY this product in terms of quality. I've caught many fish on budget setups, avoid this one like the plague. Go to Walmart, get a 20-40 dollar combo, you will be infinitely better off. I would give zero stars if I could and I'm refunding mine after this.

Their shipping containers are the best for fishing rods! Nothing will ever be damaged being shipped from Piscifun! The rod is very nice quality and can really cast that lure :)

Rod seems decent, but does not have the backbone or speed at tip required for bass fishing. The bend, weight, and tip speed is more suited for catfish or pan fish.

I was really looking forward to using this fishing rod, but unfortunately, it broke in half the very next day after purchase during normal use. I didn’t apply any unusual pressure or misuse it in any way — it simply snapped while casting. Extremely disappointed with the build quality. I expected much better durability from a product like this. Hoping for a refund or replacement. Definitely would not recommend based on this experience.
