The Story of the Bomb
This is a long film. It concentrates for half the time on the legal battles between Oppenheimer and Strauss (that's pronounced Straws). Excellent performances from Cillian Murphy as Oppy, Robert Downey Jr as "Straws", not a nice man, Matt Damon as General Groves and Emily Blunt as Oppy's wife Kitty. Nice cameo from Tom Conti as Albert Einstein, who did not get on with "Straws" and motivated some of the latter's antagonism with Oppy, which formed a significant part of the story. Good extra features on the Bluray. It was necessary to play with the HiFi turned up so the quiet passages were audible.

Brilliant
The best film of 2023. Rather long but worth watching for the excellent acting from the whole ensemble cast. Brilliant visually, and a great telling of Oppenheimer's story, about both of the creation of the atomic bomb and then his persecution by the American Government once they had what they wanted. A must watch for any Film or History buff.

A worthy Award winner
Watching this after all the hype had calmed down, I found this film an extraordinary, interesting, really well-produced and important piece of work. A stellar cast, with many cameo roles from 'A' list actors, spoilt only by Kenneth Branagh as Niels Bohr, and his terrible Danish accent. I also appreciated the length of the film (long) as it was most definitely one to get totally immersed in. Nolan did a phenomenal job scripting and directing, and finished with a suitably chilling (particularly because it is true) one-liner from the protagonist. The Blu ray also came with some excellent 'Extras'.

Its a Long film.......
Wanted to see it at the cinema, never got the chance, so got the BR version, 4K version was to pricy. Well made film, one of the best, picture quality is supreme through decent enough equipment. Its the sound that's crap!, some parts are spoken in a Wisper, was forever juggling with the sound volume and the audio setting to get a clearer centre dialogue, Even through my mates surround sound system it didn't make that much difference . Superb picture quality, Oscar nominated film for sure. sound quality rubbish. Might try headphones the next time i watch it.

A good film spoiled by poor sound.
The film tells a good start well. The excellent cinematography and quality cast is key down by poor sound in places. Poor audio was masked by overpowering music that made the dialogue extremely difficult to hear. Decidedly amateur cover-up of poor recordings. The decision not to have the cast re-record the affected speech is a huge mistake.

It’s a good film, it won the Oscar for best picture and it made almost $1 billion at the box office, it’s one of the greatest movies ever made. I got the blue ray and it all worked well, the special features were good and interesting to watch. One criticism I would make is that there was a bit too much music in the film, they have a lot of music I think it’s a bit too much, it’s also a bit confusing at times but it’s mostly a good film and interesting and even educational to watch.

Why would you have 2 blu rays and only have 1080p with only english subtitles. I do like the extra 90 minute long documentaries about the making of the film and about “to end all war: oppenheimer & the atomic bomb”

L'histoire m'a semblée embrouillée pour un résultat décevant. Je n'ai rien appris sur le plan scientifique et presque rien sur le plan politique.
