Outstanding Metal Polish — My Go-To for Knife Restoration
I’m a knife enthusiast and hobbyist focused on sharpening and restoring blades, and after working with several different polishing products, Flitz Metal Polish Paste has become my go-to compound. This stuff simply works. It does an excellent job of removing light scratches, surface abrasions, and oxidation, and it consistently brings steel to a clean, bright finish. Whether I’m restoring older knives or refining the look of a freshly sharpened blade, Flitz delivers reliable, repeatable results. What I appreciate most is how easy it is to work with. A small amount goes a long way, it spreads evenly, and it buffs off clean without leaving heavy residue. For both hand polishing and machine-assisted work, it performs extremely well. I’ve tried a handful of polishing products over time, and this one continues to outperform most of them in terms of finish quality and ease of use. For anyone into knife maintenance, restoration, or fine metal finishing, this is an essential product to keep on the bench. Highly recommended.

Basement-Tarnished Stiffel Lamp, Noticeably Improved 🪔
I used this on a Stiffel lamp that had clearly spent several years aging gracefully (and damply) in a basement. The finish was dull, uneven, and overdue for some attention. I’m not a metalworker—just a hobbyist. I followed the instructions: wipe it on, rub it in, and repeat as needed. After a few passes, the finish brightened evenly and the details came back without crossing into over-polished territory. This isn’t a one-wipe miracle, which I actually appreciate. You stay in control. Work in stages, stop when it looks right, and walk away. No streaks. No residue. No harsh smell. 👍 What worked well • Improved the finish without damaging it • Details stayed crisp • Clean, predictable results Good to know • Heavier tarnish takes more than one pass • Taking your time pays off I’d use this again on vintage lamps or brass-finished pieces that need real improvement—not shortcuts. ✨

Love It! Works Great!
EDIT: Flitz is still a great polish! However, the “up to 6 month anti-tarnish formula” statement does not apply to the copper jewelry pieces that I polished. They tarnished in just a few days.😳 To be fair, I’m totally new to working with copper, so it may be another factor causing the tarnish. I will leave my review at 5 stars until I can go back to work with copper once again and update then. It applies nicely and brightens so beautifully when I polished with Flitz! 💙 I love this Flitz polish! It’s easy to use. It comes in a nice box that I actually keep the tube in for storage. I make jewelry out of pure copper wire. Copper darkens & dulls quickly. You can see a wire spool in the background of the video clip and how beautifully bright it gets after using the Flitz polish with my Dremel on my pieces after making them. After polishing, I wash my piece & my hands with soap & water, then dry well. I get so excited to see how they shine when I’m doing so. I made & polished these today. I wonder now though, if it’s better if I skip the wash and just clean with cloth, as to make sure that product remains on the jewelry piece. It says “Anti-Tarnish Formula-Lasts up to 6 Months”! That would be AMAZING! I’ve just used today for first time so I do not know its long-term effects. I will have to make more jewelry, polish & store to see how that works. For now I’m glad I opted for this product! And I saved money, instead of buying the cake-type polishing pastes. This works on metal, plastic & fiberglass, also says it restores paint, so don’t need different polish cakes for each type of metal and each other material. I hope this review helps.

Good, compact, effective. But I get the sage results from car polishing compound.
Pretty expensive. I get the same results with car polishing compound (not wax). And a dremel. Per dollar: I’ll probably get 10 times as many frets done with car polish. It may end up closer to 30 or 40 times. I haven’t used much of the car polish yet. I use this on guitar frets. I tested this using a light and very fine graph paper. I judged based on the quality of the reflection. It works well, is compact, and has no unpleasant smell. The viscosity and texture are great. Will not drip. Great lubricity. Not much drag on the Dremel. It will scorch and stick to the metal if you use a power buffer too fast or hard. This was my mistake. It came off with little effort. If you only need a dab once in a while, this is an excellent choice. I double-buff hundreds of guitar frets. I use a lot of polish. Car polish makes more sense, financially.

Great for cleaning and polishing nickel guitar frets!
For other guitarists out there: This product works great for removing the oxidation that tarnishes nickel frets over time. And it only takes a very small amount to clean and polish a fret. So don’t let the small 1.76 oz package size concern you. It will be years before the tube is empty. I also recommend using “FrogTape” to mask the fretboard in between the frets. It works great to keep the polish off the fretboard while cleaning and polishing.

Works Well.
This polish is great. It works exactly as advertised. If you have watched any of the videos from Flitz about how this polish works, you will will experience the same results. It really cleans up the look of the metal. I used the flitz metal cleaning spray first to clean the metal first before using this polish. It is a great product and I am happy with the results. I used this polish to clean up chromed metal parts like the air cleaner and other parts on a classic car engine.

Yes! This is MAGICAL! 5 STARS!
The best! My beautiful polished nickel knobs turned color because of tarnish. It’s been several years. I read about this product on Google. They look new again. Only took a minute or less. Dissolved tarnish instantly. I treated the knobs on the right. Magical!

Lo compré para pulir resina y la verdad es que se queda bastante brillante. Me gusta mucho usarlo en aquella piezas que no están del todo brillantes. No se necesita bastante producto para que haga su trabajo así que perfecto.
