I purchased two of these Air Purifiers in April of last year (currently February, ~10 months later) and am extremely pleased with the results and effectiveness of the product. I live in Brooklyn, NY in a railroad style apartment (one side facing street near-ish a busy road, the other side facing an interior courtyard) and I purchased two 311i Maxs. One is in the the threshold between the kitchen/living area and bedroom area and the other is in the main "bedroom" that faces the street. The threshold between rooms is high traffic, so lots of dust and particulates get swept around when I walked between the rooms of the apartment. Immediately I noticed that the dust accumulation in the living and bedroom area became much more gradual. The purifier itself also traps a TON of dust clumps on the cloth outer filter that needs to be cleaned periodically but I am happy to know that it is certainly doing its job. The bedroom purifier also is doing well, but its a much lower traffic area of the apartment so it doenst need to be cleaned as often. The advertised filter live is 6 months. However, after 10 months the high traffic air purifier's filter is just about at 15% and I purchased a replacement. For context, I run it constantly at its lowest setting and have it automatically adjust to a medium high setting for two hours each evening from 5-7pm (this is usually when I am cooking and honestly, not even sure if this is necessary). I am extremely impressed with the durability of the filters in this capacity. Noise wise, I couldn't be happier. They certainly have gotten marginally louder over time (likely due to filter age) but really not bad at all. My (aging) refrigerator's cool cycle is louder than these things. I'm an audio engineer so I use my ears for a living and am particularly sensitive especially when I am working or trying to go to sleep. Not only is the purifier's noise imperceptible from more than 10 or so feet away, but I have on running all day in my studio where I work and I don't have to turn it off except to record exceptionally quiet sources. To be fair, this is all on the lowest setting. The higher settings are certainly noticeable, but about the same volume as my Mideas air conditioner. The app also works great. When there was renovations happening in the apartment below mine, I was able to periodically check in on the particulate levels while I was out for work and adjust the purifiers intensity as needed to make sure no unwanted drywall or wood dust settled in my apartment. The indicators on the units are helpful as well to see the air quality change when cooking or lighting...erm "incense" and know that the purifiers are doing their job and keeping the house clean and odor free. You can have the filters auto-set depending on particulate levels but honestly, they work so fast at the lowest setting I rarely find myself manually upping the intensity of the fan unless there is a serious cooking/smoke mishap or something similar. You're probably better off just keeping them on low 90% of the time. Recommend these to folks all the time as I do to you, dear reader.

Great machine. You pay for the quality but it's quality you get. I use it in my bedroom for allergy season. On night mode, it is impossible to hear. On level one, you can barely hear it. I keep it on level one. Automatic works well - the speed increased when I had a smoky air fry. The design is nice, and well thought out. The fabric prefilter is super easy to remove and wash. The Bluetooth connection works well and it's nice to see the current and history of how clean the air is. There are no cons here. Great unit.

The product description says the noise level when running at maximum speed is 50 decibels. I used a sound meter (with no other noise in the room) and found the actual noise level is 65 decibels. That's false advertising in my opinion. I had to move more than 12 feet away before the noise level dropped to 50. The other fan speeds are much quieter and sleep mode is basically silent, but that means the fan is not pulling much air through the filter so the air quality in the room dropped greatly overnight. It cleans well at the higher speeds and the phone app was easy to use.

I've had this air purifier for a few months now, and it has made a huge difference. Highly recommend! Even on the most powerful setting, the sound is hardly noticeable -- and this was something I was really concerned about. It's whisper quiet. And it works incredibly fast to remove cooking smells and odors.

Not going to lie, after three months, I was thinking I had wasted my money. There’s been no significant difference since I started using it, the app always says my air quality is “excellent” (with a score of 0), and when left on “auto”, I never hear it kick on. Until tonight. Cooking a burger went a little awry, and right as I noticed a lingering smoke smell, I heard this air filter grumble to life. The light on the front changed colors and it progressively whirred a little louder and after several minutes, it wound down and went back to being silent like I’m accustomed to. And the smoke smell was gone. Apparently the air in my house really is much cleaner than I give it credit for — and this filter really does work. The app shows there is 65% filter life left after three months, which is on target for their 6-9 month replacement timeframe. I wonder how much of that “life” is algorithm for time elapsed versus actual use, but time will tell.
