I recently purchased a bi-fold door kit for my closet and I am thrilled with the product. The kit was very easy to install. I did not like the pivot it came with because it has to attach to the ground and may need to be raised due to how high you install your doors, which is why I also ordered Alamic Door Pivot Hinges Heavy Duty Hinges for Doors Stainless Steel Pivot Door Hinge System. I used the top hinge as a replacement for the pivot mechanism. The bi-fold door kit is made of high-quality materials that look and feel very sturdy. DIY-er Review and tips….I bought this door system so I could add doors to my recently expanded bedroom closet opening. The product is easy to install if you don’t look at all of the instructions. First assemble the rail - this was done as per the instructions directed. I used a ledger board so I skipped using the dowels that are provided. I’m not sure why there are dowels but if you can’t install it directly to the studs use a solid hardwood ledger board. Drill holes smaller than the screws provided for the rail to make a tight fit. Having two people to hold, level, and make the holes for the rail is recommended. Level is key! I used two hollow core doors so the provided hinge screws were too long. So that required a trip to the store, but an easy solution. Lay the doors down tightly abutting each other with no space when marking for the hinges. Just make sure the hinges and door are level. Take your time with this. After getting the hinges on and the other door hardware (roller) it was a breeze. You do have to drill a hole in the bottom of the fixed door. I used a 1/2” drill bit and had to expand it a bit to fit the door pivot thingy. (I know real technical). I drilled the hole in the door put in the pivot thing and then hung the door, then marked the spot on the floor where the pivot thing needed to be installed. Much easier than how it’s suggested on the instructions. Just take your time and watch some YouTube videos on installing barn doors. The instructions make it more difficult than it needs to be. I used two 28” doors for a 53” opening. So they overlap the opening but it works great. I spent too much time trying to figure out the purpose of the dowels and worrying about the drill bit sizes. The hardwood ledger board was perfect and the door hardware is secure.

If you are like me, you noticed that the support bar is not one solid piece when shipped and maybe have some concerns about fit and quality. That is 100% unfounded in my experience, as the support beam fits solidly together without any slop, and unless I look closely at it, don't even notice the joint. The whole kit is solidly made with thick metal and the wheels roll flawlessly on the track. I was worried it would bind a bit or feel a little sketchy in regular use before I ordered it, but that concern is completely unfounded. This is a great kit for the money.

Mein Sohn hatte keine Zimmertür. Vor dem Zugang ist ein Rundbogen und diese ist zudem hohl (vermutlich USB-Platten). Wir waren also auf der Suche nach einer Lösung. Eine normale Standardtür kam nicht in Frage. Also haben wir dieses Schienensystem gekauft. Die Suche nach passenden Türflügeln gestaltete sich jedoch etwas schwierig. Schlussendlich wurden es Schranktüren aus dem Baumarkt. Diese waren zu dünn für die Schaniere, sodass wir dünne Sperrholzscheiben mit der Tür verleimt haben, um die Stärke hinzukriegen. Das hat gut geklappt. Da das Türöffnungskonstrukt hohl ist, gab es Zweifel, ob die nicht ganz so leichte Konstruktion aus Schiene und Holztüren halten würde. Wir haben es auf einen Versuch ankommen lassen. Und es war die richtige Entscheidung. Durch die Verteilung des Gewichts und die Verankerung auf dem Boden (ja, man muss auch in den Boden bohren) ist es stabil und funktioniert im wahrsten Sinne reibungslos. Für uns war es die perfekte Lösung. Die Schiene ist qualitativ hochwertig und gut verarbeitet. Klare Kaufempfehlung.

There were a few frustrations: 1. The spliced rail is TIGHT. It does come together, but only after swearing a bit. It's definitely secure though, which is great. 2. The instructions are full of illustrations with far too much unnecessary measurements information and no word instructions. There is plenty of space to say " Screw part A into part B", etc. 3. Imperial measurements on the instructions are in smaller type than metric. There's plenty of room to make it bigger type! 4. What are the wooden dowels for? They're pictured, but no explanation why or where they go. They're likely an alternative to a ledger board (which I'd actually recommend using for added stability.) 5. No stoppers to secure at the ends of the rail like so many other manufacturers offer. For almost $200 for this kit, surely you can throw in 2 pieces of $.50 hardware? I added in furniture bumpers that I screwed into my ledger board. 6. The screws to attach the hinges are too long. You'll need to buy shorter. Annoying (and I'm not the first to mention). All that said, it seems to be good and sturdy quality; a couple of scratches on the hardware were annoying given it is a new, unopened product. *Fixed by good old Sharpie* Use common sense while putting the thing together. The instructions are both too much and not enough.
