Beauty in Everyday Objects
Simple and elegant, these go perfectly well with the way I've set up my kitchen space. I also purchased the perforated version. I was unaware of Sori Yanagi, but he has an interesting industrial design history that I had fun reading about after buying these. His father was the founder of Japanese folk crafts movement (mingei), which celebrated the beauty of everyday objects, something that I require in the objects that I choose to allow into my space. I'm glad I needed new kitchen tongs so that I could learn something new about product design in the process.

Excellent
I use these for so many things. They are very sturdy and not at all flimsy. Seems to be great quality stainless steel so far.

A good find
Took a long time to get so order early. Sleek design, brushed stainless. Very nice. Great gift.

Love These, But Only for Serving
I first discovered these on Amy Sedaris’ gift idea list on New York Magazine’s The Strategist website. I’ve now purchased three of these tongs—two without holes and one with. They’re very attractive, and I love them for serving food (especially on a buffet table). There are better choices—longer grippier, and more maneuverable—for cooking, however. But none of those are as attractive as these for serving.

I love these tongs
Definitely made in Japan (it's etched on the tongs). I use mine to cook steak in the kitchen mostly. The same tongs with teeth might be better, but I think these are the best tongs I have for it right now. The simple no-hinge design really helps to keep them clean. The metal is nice and heavy - not flimsy.

Solid piece
Great Japanese quality. It is pretty enough to use as a serving tongs. Solid stainless steel piece.

Ergonomic and grips slippery foods
Very convenient and easily grips slippery foods like noodles. Ergonomic and doesn't spread so widely that it's hard to grip.
